The good: veery nicely kept campground. Sites are large and they now have super sites with cement pads and covered picnic tables. The Staff was very nice and the store is well stocked. The River provides fishing, kayaking and floating fun. There is also two ponds for license free fishing. Beautiful views of the mountains and a dog run that is fenced. Great location to visit local tourist sites Now the bad: They required full payment for your stay up front! So we were staying a week and had to pay over $400 for the week and you loose 50% of that deposit if you cancel 7 or more days before your stay, less than 7 days you loose it all! Then the flies were, as a fellow camper put it, insane! We purchased fly tapes to try to fend them off and they filled up quickly. I thought this maybe be just a season type of thing but in talking with another camper who visited prior years and they experienced the same insane flies. You shared every meal with a host of flies!

Is What It is
The cost is high, The property is very clean, and the amenities are primitive but work. The only reason why four stars . . . Quiet hours do not mean much. The property is very well done and looking to expand. The cottages or cabins to rent are better than my house with great views. The pull throughs look close but are big enough for 5th Wheels with patio garages and or side side fold down patio. The amount of river access is very nice and the golf cart rentals are a nice touch. Plus for the primitive tent sites you have carts to take the gear from the parking lot one hundred yards to the sites. The bath house is heated and centralized but a hall from the furthest RV site and primitive campsites. I would return.

Pretty Spot
Nice place, very well maintained and friendly service. Beautiful views of the mountains. One note, don’t follow this navigation from this site. Use their address and it will get you there. Looking forward to Skyline Drive and Luray Caverns.

Deep Fall Camping with Friends
Nice campground that is well maintained with great river access, walking trails, and space. Bath house was clean and heated. Roads are gravel and location is convenient to Luray, VA. We stayed in a travel trailer with full hookup. it was a pull through site. Good power and water. Sites are gravel and fairly level. Our site, RV 15, sloped from front to back, but was big enough to allow me to adjust the trailer position to get a nice level. Only downer was the young folks running check put someone in the site next to us after our friends had requested side by side sites. So, make sure that you make sure this is not going to be a problem if you are camping with Friends. We will return. Nice place.

Wonderful
We stayed in the off season so there were only three campers in the entire place. No wifi or cable but if you have satellite or an antenna tv is available. Beautiful location on a bend in the Shenandoah River with walking trails and places to explore. Pet friendly but no off-leash dog area although there are literally acres of open land for pets to play. Great staff and owners. Very helpful and informative. A good base for tours of Civil War historic sites. Large level sites, pull thru or back-in are available. No laundry room or pool but swimming in the river is an option. Views are fantastic. No shade trees on the RV sites. I understand there is an expansion planned to add more RV sites. Close to shopping and far enough from the highway that road noise is negligible. A very nice place if you don't need the Internet.
