Outstanding Campground
What can I say, Virginia got it right with their State Park campgrounds! Shenandoah State Park is now our favorite! Fist time there and fell in love with it. The sites, the bathhouses, the host, the scenery, the visitors center and absolutely the trails! Definitely a return trip in the future! This is the standard that every State should shoot for camping in a rv!

Nice and quiet
Excellent location for river access. Sites are spacious and offer water and electric. Showers (4) clean and private with nice water pressure. The water at our site was not very good, at times it flowed brown which went away after we repeatedly opened it and let it run for a 30 seconds. Still going to bring my own drinking water next time. Wood available at host with honor system. Road into park is steep up and then steep down into the loop, go slow.

Nice setting along river, easy access to national park and caves. If u camp in the reserved section u will have to listen to the water pumping station run 24 hrs a day. U do not hear it in the non reserved spots. Shower rooms private, clean bathrooms. Nice trails, check out welcome center, sweet displays. Nice space between some of the sights. Paved road

Great Quiet Spot
This was great for our first family camping trip with our new little one! The pads are very large and hookups are not a long stretch. It is only a short drive or hike to river access for fishing, kayaking, swimming, or tubing on the river within the park. Dump site is on location no extra fee. Full sun on most sites was the only hiccup we found but as the river access is a picnic area you can hang out and chill in a hammock for the day if you would like. Access to the park are well maintained paved roads but make sure your vehicle is not under powered for towing hills and that you bump up the brake controller coming in! Overall excellent experience and I am a seasoned camper from a very young age.

Very Nice
The RV pads are nice, level and quite large. Not a lot of traffic. Wish they had left some shade trees, there are trees everywhere but most of the sites are full sun. This also means no place for a hammock ðŸ˜. The area is so beautiful. Just a few miles to canoeing and caverns. The bathrooms are very nice if you need them.
