Great Nebraska Camping

We chose to drive our truck camper down onto the lakeshore beach where primitive dispersed camping is allowed. Had the beach to ourselves in early October. The regular campsites looked nice too, but didn't have the remote feel we got from out of season.

Statr Park

To camp is 20 a night and then they hit you with a per night charge for your vehicle. The sites are on the water but thr fact that there are no water hook ups or wifi detract from the high price to stay here. The sites are level, bathrooms clean, and the staff nice except for the party and friends over till 1AM host. Seem to always be short of firewood. Other wise not to bad.

Mi nature lake

We just returned home from Nebraska, stayed at Lake Minatare in Minatare, NE it was a nice state Park with only 30 amp electric. The park was clean, with clean bathrooms and showers. Also had a laundry facility. The grass (weeds too) was a little overgrown, could have used some trimming. The space between the lots was anywhere from 15 feet to 30 feet, with bushes and leafy olive trees between them. Our spot was on the lake inlet side so we had a "river" that flowed into the lake with lots of fisherman with boats. Fishing was very good from what I observed. The sites are all paved asphalt or concrete with grassy areas for the picnic table and fire ring. Our picnic area was un-level and very hard for us to walk on. We could get both our 40' 5th wheel and our 1 ton quad door dually in the spot. We were there after Labor Day so nice and quiet. There were lots of flies though, that was the only bad thing. We were there visiting family. The area is rich in history of the covered wagon days.
