Starved Rock Family Campgrounds

This is the new campgrounds. Just opened a few weeks ago. We stayed there last weekend. The owners are great. Working hard to get it up to speed. Only a few sites open at this time. Gone

Nice place, but permanently closed as of Oct. 9, 2017. Sold property to an asphalt company and getting bulldozed. Amazingly, the owner was still crabbing at people to not park on the grass up to the final day.

This campground was beautiful and we loved it. It was quiet although it was close to the interstate. There was a very restful atmosphere and we will diffenently go back. Well maintained and very friendly staff.

Clean But What To Do?

If you are tenting or have a Toad with you to go site seeing than this is a good CG. But if you are like us and want to camp then look a little NE as there are very few amenities at this CG. The pool is clean but very small for this size CG. The staff are very courteous. We were hoping for a lot more especially since this is rated #1 in a 30 mile radius.
