Ocean Mesa
I have been coming to what was known as Ocean Mesa Resort for over ten years. Two years ago it was sold to Sun Outdoors and has turned into the worst place on my list. This year is my last here and is due to the cost per night for what I am spending I could stay at a 1st class hotel with a 3 course meal. This year was particularly bad since I had an RV next to me with 4 yapping dogs the entire time I was here and when I complained I was told it would be taken care of. I guess all good things come to an end and Sun Outdoors will never get my business.

New Owners Make It Even Better!
Sun Outdoors has made many improvements to this already wonderful park. Handy store, warm pool, friendly staff. Level, well maintained spots, you get what you pay for, and this is first class.

Great Camp Ground
Spent the weekend here and was pleased with the resort, the staff was very friendly, professional and helpful. Great am coffee with a well stocked store.
Only negative is since we visited in the winter, the bathrooms and showers are not heated. Cold on the butt.
Giving Oceanmesa 5 stars because they are as advertised.
Thanks for a great weekend.

El Capitan Coast
Our reservations for a 2-night stay were cancelled at another campground closer to Santa Barbara before our California road trip. Ocean Mesa allowed us to reserve 2 nights even though they posted a 3-night minimum. The campground was clean, had full hookups, WiFi access, cable and big bathrooms, even though cell service was spotty. The sites were level, fairly spacious and divided by bushes for nice privacy. A quick drive to El Capitan State Park with beach access. The drive to downtown Santa Barbara was not as close as we thought at about 20-25 minutes.

Very Clean, Not Too Much For Kids To Do
Extremely clean and well maintained RV site. You should absolutely bring a vehicle though. The beach is a little over a mile away which is tough with kids unless you have a car to pack all the beach stuff in. The deli @ El Capitan is fantastic plenty of variety and they open at 7AM!

The Best Around!!
Nice park, great staff, huge meadow with playground for the kids. Great store, big private spots, clean pool, laundry, and pet friendly. A little pricey but you also get access to El Capitan campground next door via a trail and it is very nice with a store/deli too. Walk to the beach is about 1.5 miles. Great family spot.

$$$ - But Nice
We just bought an RV and in desperation to try it out, we settled on the $125/night Ocean Mesa resort because we really couldn't find any other availability. Being our first family experience with our family of 5 (2 adults and 3 kids ages 4,8&9), I can't complain. Camp sites had bushes between so there was privacy, spaces are large enough to accommodate big RVs, we had a premium back in site with view of the ocean out the front window. Store is stocked with helpful items (like coax cable since we hadn't yet bought one) as well as wine, snacks, flip flops, etc. Walk to the beach is around 3/4 of a mile and uphill all the way back, totally doable though. Beach is covered in tar, bring baby oil and be prepared to be annoyed while removing it from your kids feet. Pool was crowded but nice. Grounds were quiet. Bathrooms and showers are clean and useful for rinsing sand off after the beach. Probably would stay there again, price was the only issue.
