This Place Is Awesome
Cachuma Lake campground is huge. Lots of tent camping available. We have a 25’ trailer and had more than enough room for truck and trailer in the site. Concrete pads with lots of shade. Not right on top of your neighbors either. Bring your own fire pit though if you plan on burning wood. Sites don’t have pits available. Ash cans by trash cans are metal and are plentiful. Camps are clean and quite. Hook Cafe at the Marina has great food and General store has everything you might have forgot. Lots of hiking trails and Disc Golf for those of us that don’t fish. Well worth the wait to get a reservation. We will be coming back as soon as we can. Oh. And gas station onsite located by the General Store. This place is truly amazing.

Make a reservation early to get a dry camping spot. Even those can be priced too high at $40 (premium spots with great views). Regular dry camp sits are $15.

Campsite had electric and water. We stayed in a back-in spot under a tree. No cement pad but they do have those spots if you prefer them. Park was nice and quiet even though there was a large amount of visitors. The park has a huge camping area that includes tent camping and park models and yurts. My spot had a fire ring and wood is available at a general store on site. You cannot swim in this lake but can canoe and kayak on the lake. It’s close to Solvang and Los Olivos, which makes it a good spot to call home while you go wine tasting. The only downside to this location is that it can be hot in the summer. Otherwise, great campground.

Like It
The lake is low but my family had a blast. Only 20 minutes to Solvang and 30 to Santa Barbara. Park staff is great. Full hook ups are are good. Watch out for the spiders in the electrical boxes though. Bathrooms are ok. Didn't have to use the showers because of the hook ups. Didn't love the pool because there are 2 but only one was open, and it seemed like there were a hundred people in it. Fish weren't biting so we found other fun. Will come back.

Nice Place
Second time staying here. Full hook up spots are kind if close site 72 and 121 are nicest 121 and that row back up to open area. Dry camping spots are very spacious on grass and under bug oak trees. Lake level is low but that is due to no rain. Overall would recommend.

Holy HOT
So yeah, it was 115 degrees today with the closest town clocking in at 125...WOW! The heat doesn't play tricks on you when you look at the lake though...it's like California's very own Lake Meade. You can even see the giant pipes taking the water out of the receding lake. You can fish wherever you want, expect on the boat docks (down the steepest boat ramp on the world...seriously ridiculous)...if you enjoy trudging across drying lake bed to get to the new shore. The pool is $3/person per session...a session is 2.5 hours and there is a limit to how many people can be in it. The hours are limited but it was worth it in the temp we dealt with. The spots are not level at all and the concrete slab spots are made up of broken pieces of cement. The sewer drain is higher than most RV sewer outlets so good luck with that! Don't pay extra for water views because there aren't any and stay away from the bathrooms. Not worth the $$. The staff is super awesome though so that is good.

Drought
The park is nice, spots are spacious, Rangers are friendly, but due to the drought in California the lake is very very low and some of the facilities are closed. Internet is also a little shotty, so all in all its a little over priced.
