Huge Area
Actually this is State Trust Land, not BLM. Permit required, available through Arizona State Land Department. $20 for a family, is good at any state trust land for 14 days total, for 1 year. We did have police stop by and check us. Very level. Hundreds of stone fire rings. No shade, but perfect if you use solar to keep your batteries charged. Probably brutally hot in the summer, but really nice in late Oct. 5 bars of 5G AT&T. Free. Convenient to Phoenix and other areas nearby. A small amount of trash, but any is too much. You brought it in, you pack it out.

Open Range
At the junction of 74 and New River Rd, BLM land. A thousand acres, hundred RVs. Lots of room to spread out, zero amenities. Big blue sky, windy, starry nights. Ultimate desert boondock!
