Narrow But Shaded
Camp Sandusky looks like they are working to bring the campground back to what it probably was a decade ago. The pull through FHUsites are nice and shaded but a bit narrow. The park was less than 50% full for most of our stay. You can see evidence of how nice the park was in the past as well as some recent efforts to bring it back to its former glory. If we were traveling through the area again, we would stop without a second thought.

Good Park If You Don’t Mind Unplugging
Easy drive from highways, port Clinton & Sandusky. Right off route 2 so there is some road noise but it wasn’t bad. No cable tv, lots of trees so satellite might not work and WiFi is sketchy depending on your site. Besides that we had a nice 2 nite stay. Our pull through site was a little narrow because of the trees but we loved the shade. A little challenging for big rigs but our 40’ RV did fine. Good park for families- big playground, refreshing pool, lots of gassy areas to play and walk pets. Right next to huge corn field which was quaint. Lots of campers had camp fires at night which was relaxing. Camp store was closed probably due to COVID-19 but the staff accommodated our needs. Some areas could use some maintenance but nothing was broken or out of order. Clean bathhouse. Very relaxing stay. We’d stay again.

We stayed for a week. Restrooms were kept clean. We had a pull through spot and they are tight spots! Lots of shade though! One pool not in best condition. The other pool wasn't running until last day and it was green and gross when it was working. Also, there is a LOT of junk all over the place. Looked like they were trying to fix the place up maybe, i.e. planting trees and flowers. The playground was nice.... my kids loved it. We probably would come back.

Wont Return
This place just opened for the season so a lot of things were not set up yet but here are my issues with this place. We have a 35 ft TT and found the sites are very difficult to back into because of so many trees. If you stay here get a pull through site as these are the only ones with stone pads, everything else is grass and not level at all. The playground was closed for repairs and the little tykes playground was so dirty that my granddaughter couldn't even play on it. Staff was nice.
