It Is PIB

We lost power at the campground two different days in a 5 day period. While off only for about 4 hours each time, “it just happens here” per the staff. Sites are small for and very close together for RV/trailers. Clean!!! For a state park, very clean, very shaded and very quiet-we did not camp on weekend but weekdays only.

Nice Campground, Tight Roads

This is a nice campground for being part of the State Parks. Tree covered campsites, nice views of the lake, good fishing access. The roads are very tight and most are one way. The Bad, there is no legit potable water fill sites. There are hose connections on the shower houses and a few stand alone sprinkled around the park. There are no signs for any of these spots, you kinda just find them. The issue is the sprinkled ones are not easily accessible for RVs and if you park near the shower house you block the road. That's the bad, so no big deal. The positives. The campground is built on the old Hotel Victory site, so some ruins and the old pool remain. Also, there are glacial grooves located here as well. For what you pay for hotels on the island this is definitely a good cost saving place

South Bass Island

Beautiful park. Plenty of shaded spaces. We explored the park in a golf cart. The views were amazing. We did see class A RVs on the campground. Getting there is timely. Have to get on ferry to take RV across the lake. Leaving island looked hectic if you have vehicles. Overall a gorgeous camp site.

Beautiful Views

The large sites, most are well shaded, beautiful views, clean bathrooms for a state park. Lots to do in the area.
