Nice But Overgrown
Campground is like any federal campground, no frills but adequate. The only complaint is that the trees and brush needs to be trimmed. Anyone with a trailer or motorhome needs to use caution. Camp hosts were great!

Be careful booking on line. We found our site too small for our rv. We had to go to office to cancel and rebook. Also, there are many trees that need trimmed back from road. Shower house had a lot of dead mosquitos/bugs. It’s quiet outside of the far off sound of interstate and the trains are often and loud. Staff at office was very helpful.

close to the beach
Camp was crowded but noise stopped at appropriate time. A short walk to beach and access to trails. A welcomed site after tracking through the bustle of Chicago. Be advised of the no alcohol rule

Very nice... secluded. No electric. Lots of hoot owls. Bathroom relatively clean and showers. Helpful staff. Close to dunes. Can fill up on weekends.

Loved It!
This forest service campground has widely dispersed shaded campsites, showers, access to the fascinating dune habitats, and a train station with service to Chicago. No electric but your cell phone will work.

Nice!
Great campground, lots of space for tent sites, across the street from small general store and small train station stop. Only negative thing is hearing the trains. But in the woods it didn't really bother us
