Very Enjoyable Stay
Staff was friendly and helpful. Hiking was excellent including a section of the AT. Mountain views with fall colors were wonderful. Prepare to be unplugged. Only reliable cell service in the park for us was around site 27 near the yurts. We’ll plan on returning.

Great Park.
The park is a spectacular place. The camping is very nice. Clean, with a variety of choices between wooded and open. High elevation makes it cool in the summer. We stayed in the horse camp. One complaint is that dogs on leash rule was not followed. No problems resulted but our dog was approached by other dogs off leash.

Awesome Park, Rude Staff.
As far as Parks goes this is one of the top 5 in the state of Virginia. It has some of the most unique topography and biology found in the state. The staff that manage this park are a different story. They have the Most rude rangers/park police that I have ever encountered in a state park. When they say quiet time is it 10:00 you better not speak outside of your camper. Whispering is acceptable though.
