Nice Clean And Well Kept Park

We stayed here overnight on our way to Capstone Canyon State Park. We almost missed the place because Google Maps directed us to a vacant lot in the city of Wellington proper. The location north of the city on this map that shows an icon for a rest area is correct. In fact, the park is sort of a highway rest area with a nice park and RV slots behind it. It had a nice clean bathroom and there were workers there everyday gardening and cleaning things up. About half of the sites are well shaded so go for those if you can. A lot of people in the extended area Camp here for a weekend or so, so it had a nice family feel and people are very friendly and loved it to chat. Hard to beat for $15 a night. It is first come first serve oh, but the campground host said it only really gets crowded on a holiday weekends.

Beautiful (and historic) park. Lovely and welcoming hostess. No showers available, but for $10 water and electric, it's still a great place.
