Stop And Smell The Tumbleweed

I loved our one night stop at Lonestar RV Park on our trip west. About a mile off of I-40, it is gravel lot on a hilltop tucked into the Texas panhandle. Hookups are like the town of Shamrock, dated but functional. Phone instructions informed us to pick a site and drop $20 in the slot in the red concrete post. With no trees and only 2 long term trailers the site blends into the landscape with an endless view of the prairie and a windblown sunset visible to the horizon. As my fried Don says “you have to stop and smell the tumbleweed.”

Great Spot To Overnight

We stayed here on our way down the Rio Grande Valley. Check in is a breeze! Call the number leave a message and they will call back with instructions on picking a site and how to pay. The resturant was closed the night we stayed but we had a nice walk to town! Great to stretch the legs. It's a no frills park with no bathrooms or shower house. Just pull in plug in and head out the next morning. Very easy in and out! I recommend this park.

Good Stop Over

Easy place to park and to refresh the tanks for the night. A bit of truck noise in night otherwise peaceful. Great restaurant next door.

Great for the area, very nice staff, pull through, steak house open for breakfast at 6:30a.m. right next door. $20 :-)

Just a gravel lot with hook ups. No amenities except Wi-Fi, just a place to park and hook up. $20 a night, pay cash at the steak house. Sewer, 50,30 amps and water. No problems. Lot nearly empty of people. Nice and quiet for a night stop over.

Very quite only 4 rvs in a 30 space lot. Steak restaurant next door is where you pay if they're open. Closed when we were there they said leave $20 in the electrical box. Great place to stop.

Simple

Like the other reviews simple no frills. Pulled up early to get out of the wind. Did not try the restaurant though it appeared inviting. Stayed tucked in from the wind. Full hookups for $20. Good for an overnight away from I40.

No Frill Overnighter

$20/full hookup, semi flat parking lot with pull thrus. Far enough from hi way noise. No frills, no WIFI despite advertising. No bathroom, showers. You pay next door at the restaurant. DO NOT EAT THERE! We did, big mistake. Worse food ever. Asked for WiFi password 3x before being given one that did not work despite them insisting that it did. Basic one night stopover.

Very nice reasonably priced RV park with easy access from I40 via exit 163. Large pull through spaces with a nice view. Free Wi-Fi .Very good steakhouse next door.

Easy on and off I-40 exit 163. Clean, safe and inexpensive place to spend the night ($20 night). No low hanging trees to worry about. Steakhouse next door open till 9pm except Sundays. Large pull thrus for larger RVs. 30 and 50 amp service. Self check in 24hrs..
