Refuge During A Hail Storm
We were on our way to Lake Meredith, but a hail storm turned us back to the Interstate. There was a closer RV park, but when we drove up we saw lots of flooding, so we drove to the KOA. Great reception people! We had a level site with full hookups. Dog park was nice. Dumpsters were convenient. The nearby airport was quiet from dusk to just before dawn. Train horns through the night, but I went right back to sleep. Some noise from the two-lane highway. Again, it just became white-noise after away. Nothing fancy, but fine for the night.

Overnight Stay
Stayed one night. Check in is at 1:00 and we arrived early. No early check in very strict even when I asked. Clean well maintained campground. Easy drive to see sights. Field right across road is full of prairie dogs. Very cute.

Great Spot And Best Staff
Absolutely loved our stay here. Booked it on the day of our stay on the app. Having to flee bad weather and horrible prior stay. The staff was so helpful, friendly and provided awesome recommendations in the area. Sites are nice for plains. Hook ups, wifi and cable were great. Super clean bathrooms and laundry facilities. We got a 4 night stay, even though they usually cap stays at 3 nights. Small clean dog park, and pool (not open yet). Must see Palo duro state park in the area. Only negatives: train and airport noise. Had to level rig a bit, but not bad. Even prairie dogs close to property. Which was cool to see.

Traveler
Staff is very caring and helpful. Grounds are very clean. Cable is very good and there is a free shuttle to the steakhouse if we would like to go. We will stay here if we are ever in the area again.

Friendly People. Nice Grounds
We stayed 1 night while passing through. It was freezing so we couldn’t explore the grounds. But the staff is so nice and helpful. Far enough away from the city also, but close enough to get to locations quickly. Would stay at again

Nice In Winter
Much of what has been written is true: spaces are tight, there are trains (I was not bothered by them), and you are by the airport ( largely shut down at night). Great cable, very friendly and helpful staff. I wonder how dusty the place might be in summer. Limo service to the famous steak place was very nice. I would stay again.

Yes, There Are Trains...
There are many trains and planes. It’s kind of difficult to get to park. Otherwise it’s fine...

We stayed here 2 times. First time going as half way point and 2nd time half way coming back. Very clean level pads. Very nice, friendly and helpful. There's an airport nearby but didn't bother us. We never heard a train. Only issue we had our maps show it to be on I-40, it's actually on business 40. The constitution on I 40 is really bad. Take exit 32 or you'll have to go all the way through Amarillo before you can hit hwy 332 and come back

Nice Park
Very well maintained. Air conditioned showers and bathrooms. Nice clean pool. Nice big pull thrus. Im in a 35' with a 12' trailer and. I fit just fine in the site. Lots of tent sites. Fenced dog area. Like most KOA campsites this one is a little bit expensive but its got great amenities. Office people are nice and helpful. Guys on carts lead you to your site. Some spots are shady in the afternoon..ours isnt site 70 but thats ok. Best campsite in Amarillo we have been in so far.

Just OK
Negatives: Very small spaces. Trains every 20 minutes blow horns and sound close. Airport close by and you can hear planes taking off. No fire pit or BBQ. Expensive Positives: Park is well maintained. Great bathrooms with large showers.

Clean
Stayed here a couple times as a halfway points to other destinations. Very clean bathrooms and well maintained grounds. I did notice a train a couple times at night, if staying in a tent it could be a bit noisy but in camper wasn’t to bad.

Noise
I am surprised and somewhat irritated that no one mentioned the trains that seemingly run by this KOA about every 20 minutes. The dog park was a mud hole. It had been raining, and since the whole park is dirt and gravel, it was pretty messy. Didn't check out bathrooms or any other amenities because of the lousy weather.

Great Stay
Awesome clean site. Level. The kids loved the pool. The parents loved the shuttle service to The Big Texan. Would definitely stay again.

Campground
Was just overnight, clean area, easy to get 40 foot plus campers into, staff was extremely friendly. Easy to get on and off of interstate 40. Even had a free shuttle to and from the Big Texan. Would definitely recommend this campground.

Nice & Clean
Nice place. Clean bathroom facilities. Site nice and level. Only issue that it advertises free wi-fi and cable.... But no wi-fi, and no matter what we tried, no cable tv connection could be made. Otherwise, we would definitely go back again, as long as we don't expect those connections to really come through.

Watch For Rain
Great bathrooms, secure closed door showers. No trees so it can get hot. Rained when we were there and flooded some poor folks out of their tents.

Great KOA
Friendly staff. Very clean! Level sites. Easy hook ups for big and small rigs. Only draw back was not enough trees. Will stay here next time we travel through Amarillo.
