Sand Burrs
Everything was great except for the sandburs. Horrible for us and our fur babies.

This place is a dump, if you don’t have 4x4 to get to beech don’t go there, showers as bad.

December Wet Windy And Wild Stay
We were very happy to check in here today!! Electric hook up was only $35. Lots of available spaces. Showers are closed but some bathrooms are open.

Nice campground...water and electric sites available but have bathroom and shower house near all sites...have to register online only is only downfall...unless you don't mind that.

Lovely In April
A bit open camping but having the beach and dunes behind us made it worth it. No burrs/prickers on dogs paws in April. And no bugs! The outerbanks were pretty quiet so we're coming back! Our site had no electricity but we didn't mind. The beach was so quiet.

Convenient And Quaint
Decent campsites, many with electric and water at sites. Dump station across the street. No privacy between sites as this is in a flat area separated by beach with sand dunes. Showers hot but are not inside the bathouse - they are more outdoors in a separate stall area and have a pull rope. Short walk to the beach. Very few bugs in Nov. Our site was grassy with few sand burrs, but A loop for tents only was covered in them. Some traffic noise especially on weekends. Convenient with lots to do nearby. Stores and gas just up the road in Nags Head.

Close to the Beach and Lighthouse
We paid $35/night and stayed a couple nights in site B39. Partial hookups (water and electric). No sewer but we used the dump station across the street at the marina on the day we left. The sites are spaced out and plenty long even for our 42-foot rig, but you have to have at least a couple tires on the gravel and not on the grass for your truck or tow vehicle, so there's not much room for a long rig and a truck. The roads are also very narrow but we didn't have too much trouble navigating around the campground to get to our site. The reason you come here, of course, is the beach. It's a short 5-minute walk through the dunes to the beach. There are quite a few cars that drive along the beach during the day, but in the evening we basically had the beach to ourselves. At night we went back and caught several ghost crabs. We could see the Bodie Island Lighthouse from our window and watched the light blinking as we fell asleep at night.

Camping
Would have given it a 4-5 but the beach was packed with trucks and jeeps, everyone was fishing making it hard to walk on the beach!! I was looking forward to a quit beach, fortunately Pea Island is just over the bridge and you can’t drive on the beach there.

We used to come here with tents. Tried the non electric site with a camper- it’s nice- just not for me- however- the electric sites are awesome and the price is great-

RV Electric Site
Half off with national parks card for those over 60.... so less than $20 per night. Great place. We'll come again next summer. Bring bug spray for evenings.

RV No Electric Site
Parking site was pretty flat, staff was very nice. Just walk over the dunes and you are at the beach. The do have RV Sites with Electric but not very many.

October Stay
Great clean campground, great staff and campers. Full hook ups but limited. Mosquitoes came out but we covered ourselves in repellent. Can’t wait to go back!

Beautiful Location
Great campground. Plenty of people with tents and full RVs around. Extremely safe and friendly staff / neighbors. They keep the bathrooms very clean, showers are outdoor (with locking door) but nice warm water and extremely clean. Beach is perfect. Walk right over dunes 1 minute (easy walk). Only thing that was bad was mosquitoes at night come about so make sure you have one. Would definitely stay again!
