Was A Nice Campground Once
They stopped enforcing the rules and regulations so anything goes. We just left there early because we had aggressive dogs on one side that had already attacked ours on our site. Then a “mudder”truck showed up and parked right next to our picnic table. Just what you want to look at while eating. Yes, it was covered in mud sitting on a trailer.

Big Fan
This place is perfect. I’ve only stayed in D loop, but it is extremely relaxing. There are tents and groups that come and go, but that adds to the ambience. Grass/gravel back ins, nice restrooms, water is available (via 100 ft of hose at most spots), and a dump station at the park. A good weekender to unwind and get away from the real world. I will always choose Camp Branch over any of the other camps at Smithville Lake.

Just Perfect
Stay here at Camp Branch! It is well maintained and beautiful. The management did a great job organizing trailer to primitive camp sites. If you have kids, stay in Loop D on top of the ridge (back side of loop) for best sites and views. We will be back a lot more this year.

Beautiful, Quiet Lakefront Park,
This and Crows Creek Campground are part of the Clay county parks system. You can reserve online claycountymo.gov/camping (site maps for both parks).
Or walk-ins at the entrance. Camp branch parks has designated loops w/ electric sites avail (30 &50 amp). Crows Creek park has electric & water sites. We stayed at Camp Branch overnight...very nice well maintained park with most sites having lake views. Sites are spacious and there are also paved bike/walking paths throughout. Go online or Call 816-407-3400 for more info. We didn't use the shower or restrooms, but they are available and laundry too.
