Very peaceful campground with plenty of trees to provide privacy, and a beautiful short walk through the woods to the Atlantic coast, which provides an even more amazing view in the morning to enjoy a nice cup of coffee. Great location to Acadia National Park and conveniently placed on Mt. Desert Island only 5 minutes from Bar Harbor. No showers but an inexpensive off site shower stalls that run about 2$ for a couple of minutes. It's everything you need for basic camping if all you want to do is get away from the hustle and bustle of reality.

Great Campsite
Heads up the showers are actually NOT in the campsite they are just outside the park and are pay showers ($2 for 4 min). They were easily accessible. The campsite is great spot to start a hike up the ridge to eagle Craig or Cadillac mountain. Very wooded and quiet in October. Beautiful colors. They were starting to close a lot of the campground and bathrooms while we were here though.

Retired
Love the Park, but campground is showing its age. An investment in hand driers and showers in bathrooms would be a big improvement. Picnic tables are about worn out. And wi-fi would be a nice to have amenity.

Needs Work
The lack of investment is showing in this camping stop. The roads and spots are very narrow. If you have over a 20ft camper don't try. They have not done a good job trimming back the brush and they don't have any showers on site. All the spots are shaded but not much space between sites.
