Great Campground
Spent a week at the campground for a tech rally. The campground is very nice! The pads are all level gravel. Staff is very pleasant and helpful. Restrooms and showers are well kept. Saltwater pool is open during the summer season. Lots of tall oak shade trees. Ducks and chickens are quite fun to watch.

This was the best site in all our travels across the states, private. Very nice, accommodating, friendly people, wooded, so lots of shade. Lake nearby. Intended to stay one night, ended up staying more. Nature lovers, lots of little silkie chickens on site fun to watch. Bathrooms clean, showers clean

Peaceful Place
Beautiful & well kept park. Owner even plants lots of flowers all around. Also chickens, just too bad they don’t deliver fresh eggs to our sites every morning. 😉 Nice dog park. Only negative is there could be a few more trash bins.

Whittington Woods Campground
One of the best campgrounds we’ve been to on our trip. Wonderfully spacious sites and the owner and the people who work here are fabulous! I would highly recommend this place!
If we lived closer, we would definitely come back!

Very nice campground. Nice big trees, level lots. Had a problem with reverse polarity but the lady in the office got me another spot. Very nice, she said they had an electrician and she would let him know. Very nice people in the office. Recommend this park.

Amazing
What a beautiful campground. We pulled in for overnight and wanted to stay longer but, alas, they were booked solid. I can understand why people keep coming back, the park is very clean and well maintained. The sites were level. We were able to keep our toad hooked. We were up front so
There was some road noise but not a distraction. I was pleasantly awoken to bird songs. We would definitely return here.

Stayed last night as an after-hours “walk-in”. Typical after hours check-in but with very detailed map in and out of campsite. Stayed at site 84, pull through that much like the other sites were well marked and very shaded by mature trees. Our site was in the second row from interstate but barely heard it and was not noticeable with the A/C running. The bathrooms and pool(listed as saltwater) were closed due to COVID so can’t give much feedback there. DW said the dog run was real nice and also very shaded. Overall park was very clean and easy on/off from interstate. Note they only accepted cash/check for our stay.
Will definitely stay here again.

Always Nice
This is a great place to stop when traveling. It’s always quiet and beautiful. A very country feel to the park. Came down with some kind of bug this last time and spent a lot of time keeping in, dry and warm. The fall colors are great.

Pretty much what everyone else has mentioned. Stayed two nights. It was the best we have enjoyed so far. A trip into Benton was a treat literally. Great food and coffee. Would very much like to return when weather is warmer.

One Night Stand
This is beautiful camp ground. Extremely clean. Beautiful trees and grounds. Stayed one night on our way to Nashville. They put us right inside the entrance. No privacy or shade but we were staying only one night, so we just assumed that’s where they put the one nighters

Great Stop!!!!
This was our last stop enroute to Memphis after a month on the road. We got in after 5:00 pm and the owners had all of our information waiting for us outside the office. They did see us pull in and opened the office to make check-in even easier. We had a 90 ft long pull through level spot with a movable fire pit with grass and flowers (nice touch)! The owners seem to love their campground and it shows. They have a beautiful garden and they keep the pool spotless.
A highlight was the camp hosts Judy and Roger who introduced our girls to the animals in the property. There are 3 sweet cats and 40 something chickens. You would never know as everything is super neat and clean! Judy and Roger gave us such a nice welcome and told us about a great local place to have dinner (Burtons). They also gave us fresh eggs and a loaf of Amish bread which we enjoyed for our last breakfast on the road! My niece took a shower and said that the showers were, clean, hot and had great pressure!

Gem In Southern Illinois
This was our second time here. The park is a beautiful setting in rural southern Illinois. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The facilities are clean and neat. They have a salt water pool that is open Memorial Day to Labor Day. The sites are gravel and level. We had a large pull through that fit both our 40’ motorhome and tow car. While we were here, we went over to Rend Lake golf course. They have 27 holes. Their fairways were lush and their greens were beautiful. We will definitely stay here again on our travels.

We had a lovely time at Whittington Woods Campground. This campground is nicely maintained, clean facilities and we enjoyed the clean saltwater pool. Large trees throughout the campground create a nice canopy. Added bonus is the chickens walking around everywhere.

Great Place
We stayed here two nights and loved it. Very quiet, wooded and level sites. They have some really nice touches: garden, swings and wood sculptures. They also have free roaming chickens; kind of cool.
There are trains overnight but it reminded us of the small towns we grew up in, no big deal.
We spent a day at Rend Lake walking the trail. Lots of wildlife birds, deer, turtles etc. That was really fun.
We will definitely go back to this one!

One Of The Best
Stayed 2 nights. Sites are excellent. Staff was super helpful. Campground has wonderful, tall hardwood trees creating a canopy over nearly every site. Bath house was clean and well maintained. Saltwater swimming pool is excellent. Lots of annual flowers all over the place - really nice touch. In response to a previous review... We never smelled a sewer odor and we never heard a single train. In fact, I don't think there are train tracks nearby. You can, however, hear Interstate traffic but the trees do help mute the sound so that it doesn't really intrude on your experience.

Unpleasant Surprises
We did agree that the campground was neat, orderly, and scenic, there were also 2 rather unpleasant surprises. We noticed almost immediately that the whole general area surrounding our campsite had a strong sewer smell! I'm pretty sure our site was 100 yards or so from a sewage treatment facility.
In addition, we heard no less than 15 trains that we counted in the half a day we were here.
The pool and staff were both nice and I am thankful for that.
