Absolutely Amazing!
Maybe my all time favorite place! Electric at all sites. Maybe water too. Large sites in big pines. Tons of biking and walking trails in park. Sand beach, two fishing piers. However in 2020 it closed camping on September 20! Why? The fall camping season is just starting.

An Awesome Campground, but....
This was probably the best campground I have ever stayed in. Every site was level, large and private. The grounds are kept perfectly and day use areas and walkways are great.
My only concerns were with the Park attendant and the displayed reservation cards on the campsite posts. I found the attendant abrupt and somewhat rude. When we arrived, at 4pm, I found a site I liked, I checked the post and it showed the people who were in the the site checked out that day. When I went into the office, which opens at 5pm, I was rudely confronted by an attendant, repeatedly. He said the site was reserved and that I should have looked under the res sheet on my site post. I didnt flip up the sheet to see if it was double sheeted. I offered to move several times, but he was more inclined to abuse me in front of other campers.
The lady who worked behind the counter was his polar opposite. She was enjoyable to talk to and very helpful.
I almost packed up and left but was very happy I stayed.

Great Campground/Horrible Camp Attendant
This is a great Campground. Newly renovated. VERY clean, well kept and nice large/ level campsites.
There is a great Doogie Island, boat launch, boat docking area, sandy beach, lots of shade, picnic tables and benches galore.
Nice asphalt walking trails throughout and water fountains.
We absolutely loved this campground....
Except...the "Camp Attendants" take their job WAY too seriously driving around on their Golf carts looking for anyone who breaks any of their MANY rules.
Every fire ring throughout the park is 2/3 full of gravel even covering the vent holes on the sides.
They stopped at numerous sites telling Campers that the fire itself (the flames) could not go above the rim of the fire ring.
They yelled at us when our dog ran across an open field early morning (before any other campers were out and about)
Jim...in the park office tossed my cash back at me across the counter stating he "wasn't a Bank" (repeating this 3 times)...so be sure to have exact change

Wanted to camp but all the spots might have been reserved? Not sure because no one was at the office to ask. All the sites had the date I arrived on there not sure if that meant check out. Confusing. Stayed for a while to wait for the office person but after an hour I left! Looked really nice.

Love this campground! One of the best Corp of Engineers built campground. Great roped off swim area, not too deep. Nice beach, raked daily.Nice playground area. Fishing docks sites for all to use. Nice boat launch area. Nice metal socks. Big parking area. Each camp site is on level. Nice paved roads for bike riding. Our favorite park. Hard to get a reservation here, they book up early.

Yet another superb Corps of engineers camp ground. Most sites are fairly private, all have level pads and great graveled outdoor area. The rest is as advertised.
