Horrible Road
We canceled our reservations. The road in is super washboarded and very dusty. Wouldn’t want to come and go to sightsee.

Nice Campground,
This is a wonderful campground. We stayed in Site 44 in the E Loop (Electric, 50 Amp). There is NO dump station. Inside the campground, the road is smooth, the pit toilets clean, and the hosts do a great job. All that said, arrive with full water tanks! If you are arriving in a fifth wheel or similarly larger RV and expecting to fill your water tanks, the water spigots at this campground are low flow, lack threads (bring a water bandit), and require you to hold a spring loaded valve to make the water flow. It took us over 50 minutes to fill our 74 gallon freshwater tank. Needless to say, we were chagrined and other campers thought we had set up camp at the spigot! 🤦🏻‍♂️ The only true negative? The Forest Service/County Road to the campsite sucks. It is a serious washboard, is loose gravel, and lacks any resemblance to smoothness. It requires a very SLOW drive into & out of the campground. All in all, we loved staying here!

Great camp. Most sites shaded with tall pines. All camp loops r fine gravel as r all sites. They’re all very smooth. You access camp off 550 in Durango turning in 25th at going west 5 mi. Last mi is very rough as it is gravel. Bad wash board. Camp sites very spacious. Best I’ve seen. Restrooms all vault toilets but very clean. Maybe best camp we’ve been in hosts and workers all very friendly

Above Durango
This campground is a well-hidden gem above Durango. Sites are staggered, well-spaced, and clean. The restrooms are spotless. The hosts are friendly and helpful. Maybe I should have kept it a secret.

Fairly private gravel sites. Access road and campground is dusty in the summer. Electric hook up only. Partial shade. The last 2 miles of the access road is gravel in dire need of maintenance. Even at 5-10 miles per hour the motorhome vibrates really bad and it's extremely hard on suspension. If I knew the condition of the road I wouldn't have gone to this campground.

Most sites were fairly private with tall trees for shade. Bathroom was newer looking and well maintained except it had no toilet tissue, although it was towards the very end of the season- late October- when we were there. Nearby trails and picnic areas were beautiful and all within a 15 minute drive of Durango.
