Love This Place!
The reason for 4 stars is no hookups! It’s beautiful and sites are spacious!

Quiet, No Hook Ups
Very quiet camp with some nice spots with views of sunrise and sunset. If you need to fill up water you will be sent to another state campground (New Brighton) about 15-20 minutes one-way. The water spouts we found here here have no thread so -just know this before you have to drive another half hour round trip.
Nice open spaces. Plenty of areas to walk your dog (on leash).
Sites are not all level.
Beach is down hill by car in a couple minutes or hike down.
Bathrooms ok for a state campground but don’t expect anything like what you would get at a KOA.
Sinks for laundry outside of bathroom.
This camp is about 15 minutes away from city and about 5 miles to nearest gas station.

Stay At The Beach.
Well almost. Still a brisk walk down to the beach. Paved spots, not very level. Showers are coin operated. Water is available.
Nice sunsets.

Beautiful And Close To Beach.
Bathrooms are heavily used and not cleaned often enough. Beautiful setting and close walk to beach. Sites are often very close together, however.

Sunset State Beach
Beautiful beach. Large open campsites. Some are not flat though and on an incline. Green everywhere. Short walk or drive to the beach. We had no problem getting our 32 foot trailer in there even though it says 31 foot limit.
