We spent one night here this past weekend and really loved it. We tent camp, so we are used to rustic. There are outhouse style bathrooms, fire rings, picnic tables and water spots. It is well maintained and the camp host is very nice. We fell in love with Mr. pickles the host dog! If you can get a spot that is close to the river , I recommend it. The sound at night is amazing.
Just north of Headquarters Campground. Along the Kern River. No service, no amenities, but beautiful river and great access to the southern Sierras. (Including the Trail of 100 Giants- great Sequoias) tricky ride up the canyon, but well worth it! Need fire permit...even for grills
