Great Night Stay
Spent the night 2/6/23. Like this place! Quieter than Lake Havasu City state park. No sirens or noisy boats. Campground host met us about 2 hours after parking and wrote a ticket for the 14 day stay. Says they have worked hard to clean up the place since I was here 4 years ago. All the people I saw were driving at a very respectable speed including side by sides and Dirt bikes. Would rate it higher except where we camp was no Internet or phone service. Also the road and getting in and out of camp spaces can be difficult if you don't watch for rocks and dips. Would stop again if in the area

Many Reckless ATVs
We are on our second week here, having moved once to get better sun for our solar panels. The sun is weak here this time if year (Nov) and sets early. The other reviews covered the positives & some negatives. There doesn't seem to be any host nor rangers (we've been on various BLM land all year & seen no rangers & even when we had to call BLM twice at other locations the rangers said they were too far away to help). The main issue here is disrespectful ATVrs. I've watched them close & those coming in on RVs seem generally respectful but the locals coming in from town on CanAms, etc, are worst. They drive outrageously fast & will run cars off the gravel road. The speed limit is 15 though most cars couldn't go that fast. We've had some Jeeps go by really fast but some ATVrs doing at least 70. They even drive incredibly fast at night. So, you are going to get dusted out by them if you try to sit outside or eat outside. Heaven forbid your kid or dog wander into the he road.

Pretty But Pretty Lawless Too
Convenient location to LHC, close to stores, good cell, roads in/out are wide enough. The stone formations and varied color geology are very cool. Not particularly well maintained and it looks like some are living in there long-term (I was told this too, not sure its true). A few sites had large canopies over sectional sofas outdoors. Saw one discarded couch laying in a vacant site. If you go the 15mph speed limit you may have a-holes towing ATVs try to pass you on the rough road, I did. One night another a-hole was blasting deep bass rap music. As I was leaving, yet another a-hole on a dirt bike decided to drive up the (non-trail) picturesque knoll behind my site spitting rocks and leaving a torn path thru the low lying vegetation and variable colored stones. The camp hosts are there but will ignore you unless you search them out (that's a good thing) and they seem to not do anything (probably not a good thing). An occasional Park Ranger will drive thru but it's not enough.

Love it!!
Great trails for off road, really close to town, quiet and just a gorgeous area. If you want privacy just keep driving there are way more camp ground further along. Signs said to check in with camp host, but they were never there, we tried 3 times.
