Trains
Gorgeous, well maintained campground but you better appreciate trains. One every 45-minutes all night long… 🚂 ☹️ bring earplugs to sleep with.
Potable water is available at campsites. No need to fill up on the way in.

Love this Campground
First the layout and design:
This campground was designed by the Army Corp. All the sites are perfectly set up near water spickets so even though they're electric only, you can reach the water if needed to refill your fresh tank. All the sites are relatively close to the river. Most all are nice sized lots, only a few lack privacy. Waterfront sites are awesome but you have to be quick to reserve.
The town of Petosi:
Small, quaint, nice to visit. Did the brewery tour. Was nice and recommend. The restaurant is very nice and offers very good food. The winery across the street was nice and friendly as well. Other than that, not much else in Petosi.
Area:
If you don't mind the drive, visit some towns to the north. Worth the drive. Beautiful scenic area.
Train tracks:
Yes, this is on two sets of train tracks. Trains come thru quite often. The trains are loud and awesome. For me personally, I loved it. You get used to the trains.
Highly recommend this place. We've stayed here 4 times.

The River View
Nestled right next to the River with paved road and sites. Water access. 20/30/50. Sewer dump. Nice tables and fire rings. Don't forget your Sr Pass so you stay for 1/2 price. Only 3 TV stations that are religious channels so bring DVDs. Cell and internet service.

Beautiful
One of our favorite campgrounds. On the Mississippi River with beautiful views of the river. The campground is well maintained and very clean. Everyone here is helpful and friendly. Dubuque Iowa, Galena Illinois, and Potosi Wisconsin are close in case you tire of the river views.

Very nice. We got a sight on the Mississippi River, and watched the tugs pushing barges up and down the river.
