Views, beach and location are exceptional. Showers are private and large and clean. Some bathrooms need serious updating, but the bath house where the showers are located are very modern and clean. This is not a US Forest Service Campground. It's a NY State DEC campground. Swimming is excellent with shallow waters extending far out in the sandy bottom beach. Paddling is also excellent as there is direct access to the wildlife preserve along the Little Au Sable River. Lots and lots of bird species, including nesting Bald Eagles and Osprey, among many, many others. We love it here.

Buggy but nice
We had site 101 which has water access. A little swampy in the campground. Not sure if it is from the rain or it is normally like this but it definitely encourages mosquitoes! We have enjoyed kayaking the Ausable River and a little on the lake. Some good bike riding and hikes not too far away.
