Ramble On...
This campground is a place to stay while you visit the huge dunes. Developed sites are very small and close together. Sand/grass pads that are not defined. Undeveloped or tent area was almost empty and bigger but no electric. Cabin area has best sites. Cabins are small. Limited toilets. Public beach was nice...quite a few people. Separate area for dogs to play on the beach. Hike the dunes for a great workout.

Ehh
Just a place to park your rig while you're at the beach.

Not Much Of A Campground
The lake and dunes are the attraction here. Although we appreciated electric hookups, showers, and water fill and dump, the campground is one of the poorest designed for a state park I've seen out of thousands of places in 34 states. Merely a parking spot in the grass, sand, or mud right next to others. The 1st loop (lower #s) is more lush and has a few decent sites, but most sites at this park are perpendicular to the road and right next to each other. No privacy and trailers and larger rigs are challenging to park. The freeway noise is very loud and the lake is over a mile hike or drive. There's also extra entry fees (or yearly pass ($36/yr nonresident). Recommend for day use or an overnight but not as a camping destination.

Beautiful Park, Nice Wooded Sites
Spent 3 nights here the end of August on a girls and kids trip. Staff was courteous and friendly. Lots of hiking for the kids. Can’t believe they scaled the dunes over 20 times. The dogs had a good time as well. Not only hiking but at the dog beach as well. Had an irresponsible owner letting his intact male lab rush at all the other dogs on the end of his flex lead. Called the park office and they sent out an officer to monitor the situation. The beaches were clean and kept up well. The bathroom facilities were very clean other than the spiders who decided to set up residence but hey, it’s in the woods. Only thing I didn’t care for was the noise from the highway at night. Lots of wildlife. There is a nice farmers market just past the park entrance that had a great selection of produce and home canned goods. Also t-shirts for cheaper than the park had them. Lots to explore in the area.

Nice State Park
First time to this particular Michigan State Park. Visited on July 4th weekend so it was packed. There was an error with my reservation and someone was already in our spot when we got there. The staff worked frantically to figure something out for us instead of sending us home. They put us up in a site for the night and then we moved the next morning to our permanent site for the remainder of the weekend...neither of which was the site we originally reserved. All in all, even though the mix up was caused by the staff, I'm happy with the way the situation was handled. Wanted to visit the dog beach but sand was too hot for our dogs to weather. We'll try again in the morning before it gets hot. Sites are good size and wooded. Bathrooms were clean for the few visits I made to them.

Nice Park $33 Electric Only
Overnighted here on our way out west. The sites are wooded and wide enough to feel like you’re not right on top of your neighbor. The reason I gave it only a 3 star rating was basically inept staff. If they had been busy, I would have given some grace, but they were not, AND I was the nicest customer he’d seen all day. The attendant didn’t get out of his seat to greet me, misspelled my name and address numerous times and still didn’t get it right, misread the license plate number twice from the picture I gave him, inserted my credit card in the reader wrong. The site he gave us was extremely difficult for a 30’ TT to maneuver but with my husband’s skillful ability he made it work. Train your staff to know the sites. Train them to ACT like the know how to do their job and make the customer feel important, not like an inconvenience.

Woodsy And Well Kept
Warren Dunes is clean, wooded, and well kept but the campsites are small and there's lots of road noise from I-94.

Great dunes but too much road noise at the semi modern campsites.

Great Place To Camp
Beautiful, large, wooded campground area. Very close the dunes and Lake Michigan. Easy to find site and park our 20ft trailer. Lots of families and pets. Small general store - a little pricey but you pay for the convenience. Overall, this place is awesome and I would definitely come back. Our dog loved the dog beach that was close by too!
