Enjoyable In The Winter Months
Site 34 was a good site for a 37 foot bus-RV and was pretty flat. No water or electric hook-up but water spouts available nearby that could get water even in January. Site was clean and spacious. Sturdy picnic tables. Nice firepit with grill to flip over and cook on. Shower not available in the winter. Winter charge is $10, different in the summer months. Easy walking access to several miles of trail directly from campsite. Silver mine lake trail is about 1.5 round trip with about 90 stairs. Koomer ridge trail hooks up with Sheltowee Trace trail, so many miles of hiking there. Site was surrounded by trees. Roads leading to campsite are narrow and windy but still relatively easily accessible with large RV.

Traditional Layout
Camp sites largely appear to have had major maintenance in late 2019. Vast majority of the sites have back-in parking for one car, and most of the parking is not level. Why? Because this campground was designed ages ago for tents. I loved that! Loop sites do not have much privacy. Pit toilets are new. Early 2020 host super attentive to keeping the campgrounds clean.

Great Location
Took a solo trip in February to Koomer to see if I would bring my kids. Definitely will bring my kids. Great locations and trails on site.
