Not normal for me to head into city to camp but meeting friends coming up from Ohio. Nice campground with fab bathrooms. Sites are close together but I was not bothered by it. Getting into the park which is on main artery was tough. I learned today that there is back road in. If you turn at light at sport complex and take that road down about 1/4 mile you can take a left before the bridge. Little service road for all the sports and play ground area.

Class C
Drove up and got out to pick up late reg.pack. A woman approached me and asked what I needed I said we were here to register She quickly told me they were full did I not see the sign on the window? I looked again and amongst many other notices was a small pink heart with Full on it .By small I mean maybe 4 inches. Moved on to Pilot

Beautiful Park in City
The park is very nice if you want to stay in town and see the sights of town. I'm a country woods type of camping person so while it was nice, cheap and had water hook up, it was too small and you heard city traffic all night long. Friendly squirrels that the children got to feed.

An Excellent Reasonable Priced Campg
Close to the city amenities, good clean facilities. We have a VW Wetfalia so we parked for two days and just walked to eat, shop or visit parks. This is a city run campsite so prices are cheap. I suggest you call ahead.

Retirement Trip
Johnny Appleseed Campground is a beautiful hidden gem! We stayed to camp, visit friends and family. The location was close enough to everything we needed! We rode our bikes and walked the city trails and were amazed how well developed they are! The campground is beautifully set amongst shady trees and close to the river. Quiet and well kept. There is a boat launch available and plenty of fishing spots! We would definitely recommend this campground and would return any time we came to Ft. Wayne. We were in a 38' tag along trailer and had a nice lot to accommodate us.

A Beautiful little Adventure in the city
We visited Fort Wayne, and stayed at the Johnny Appleseed Park and Campground. This is tucked away right behind the Allen County Coliseum and Convention Center. It's a very clean campground with 50/30/20amp and Water hookups. I had just enough water hose (50ft), everything worked fine. Nice, level gravel spots with Fire-ring and picnic tables. Lots of Trees too! Visit the gravesite of John Chapman, aka "Johnny Appleseed", and the boat ramp for the St. Joe River is very close by. We stayed in a Class A- 36ft, and really enjoyed our visit! Plentiful shopping with 2 miles, and much, much more! The hosts were very helpful and friendly! At only $22. a night, it was a really great bargain! We have plans to go back again!

Great Find, Will be Back
Great value for the dollar spent. Very nice, helpful, accommodating people. Nice level pull thru site with beautiful mature shade trees. Safe and clean for my young kids to ride their bike thru the campground. Too bad we only stayed one night would like to have stayed longer. Will be back for sure!

Great Experience!
Nice little campground in Fort Wayne city limits. It was within close distance to many of the Fort Wayne attractions and easy access to the bike trails. Had about 40 sites with water and electric hookup. Bath house was exceptional! We will definitely come back!
