Camped Here 9/25/24
This is a really nice CG with lots of trees and lots of space around sites. I can see why it is always full. 4 stars only because its kind of expensive and we pay half w access pass. For such a busy area it was surprisingly quiet. Wished we had more time to walk the dog around the park roads. We didn't need any services so I can't comment if there were areas that had more. We did some groceries at the store in town. Pricey but good. Needed shower and laundry but that was crowded so we drove down to Signal Mountain camp area. That was quieter but still need same tokens (5 for shower, lots for laundry) but oh well, everything very clean. Oh, each token $1. Would stay again!

Good
Most sites don't have electricity! Only a few and it's full pretty fast.
The one without electricity are still nice. Small place for the RV and not even, but there is a nice little area with a table and a fire pit in the woods. You get your own space, no one around to be seen which is pretty nice.
There are spots where generators are not allowed, we were on one where it was allowed and the smell was pretty bad since there was no wind.
The staff was nice too.
There is a dump station with drinking water too.

Shame on the Park Service
The National Park service needs to police the campgrounds within their boundaries. I was in site A1 a pull through. Someone drove over the water spigot. It was flat on the ground. I noticed that with some other sites. The paved roads are falling apart making for some rough travels. I stayed one night. Didn't travel the whole park. What saw was enough. Over priced to say the least. Will not return. I'm sure the Park Service doesn't review comments. They need to. My rating of one star is to high.

Just spent 10 days a Colter Bay Campground.
It is a nice campground with issues.
Spot are very close together.
Major sewer issues.
At $79 a night it is way over priced.

Excellent... Be Aware.
No better place for us in the Teton/Yellowstone area. Ditto on all the previous evals both good and bad, but...
Wildlife - everywhere, not uncommon for a sow and her cubs to wander through the sites.
Power - get a surge protector. Power can be unstable. We didn't suffer damage but one night power dropped out several times. Better safe than sorry.
Uphill drain - some sites are located a bit below the sewer drain. But leveling blocks can alleviate that problem.
WIFI - just ok, depends heavily on how close to the store you are.
Check-In - we can't say enough nice things about the ladies we dealt with at checkin. They were pleasant, accommodating, and adjusted our bill when they noticed I hadn't taken advantage of a discounted rate.
Overall it's a great place.

Love Love Love!!
We spent 1 night here but would have stayed longer if time allowed. We absolutely loved it. Pulled in around 10 am without a reservation. We were able to get s spot without any problems. No hookups but didn’t mind for 1 night. We’ll definitely return when in Grand Teton .

Favorite Campground!
Staff were fabulous and friendly. The sites were wooded and private. Highly recommend this campground. Plan to spend a few days at least!!!

OK, But Could Be Better
First site assigned we could not open awning. Picnic table was right on the road. Went to the office and after some back and forth, I was assigned another site, which was better. Loops B, C, and D are better for motorhome and if you have a toad. "A" loop sites are pretty close, next to the stores with compressors running all day and night. I thought price was abut much for what you got, but my expectations tend to run high. Staff was nice. Don't plan on getting propane when you leave in the morning ask was told they don't do propane until 2:30 pm. Don't understand that so got propane on the road. Everything around there is pricy. Best breakfast is at Signal Mtn Lodge, but be prepared. For wife and I, bill was $43.00.

Horrible
This is a private concessioner operated National Park Campground. The sites are not nice, they're horrible!!! Unlevel, Unmaintained, dirty, decrepit. The concessioner does NOTHING to maintain the campground; just collect the money at the booth. BTW $30.00 a night for no hookups is ridiculous. This is what happens when you privatize!!

Nice rv spaces with hookups in the park. Convenient location to both Yellowstone and Jackson hole. Nice wooded trails for walking within the park and a great. Each for swimming in the lake although it wasn't nearly warm enough to even dip a toe in while we were there. We did enjoy the ranch house restaurant one evening. Food was ok but bartender was "amazing" ;). Website warned of filling up for summer camping in January but we managed to get a walk up site with hookups for midweek. Staff was all very friendly and helpful. We steered away from the activities as the booking desk attendant was very focused on telling us all of the rules and didn't make any of them sound fun.

Beautiful Bay
We really enjoyed our one night stay. Short walk to the bay with beautiful views of the Teton Mountains. Would be nice if we could have a better view from the campsite. A lot of trees around that block out the mountain view. Sites are kinda small. But well worth it for the location. Clean bathrooms. Will stay here again for sure.
