Good Tent Camping

Camped one night the Friday of Memorial weekend. Tent sites were maybe 1/4 full. $18 for a non electric site. You choose from any available site. Most are pretty open with little privacy. If you continue counter clockwise around the tent loop there are other smaller areas that could certainly be all your own so do a complete pass before deciding. Showers are free and clean. Rangers extraordinarily nice. Little shack just outside the park entrance serves decent cheap food.

No tokens needed in showers now. Only shower bathhouse is in west end sites 40-73. Very clean. Quiet, birds, walking. Gravel on sites is pressed in not loose. Not much shade, good Elec. $ with pass discount

Beautiful Park

Nice park. We would stay again. Our first experience with tokens for showers, but the rangers provided plenty. The front part of the park was still flooded from the spring/summer rains. The part we stayed experienced no flooding and our site was right on the river extension. Even so the bugs were not as bad as we experienced in Minnesota. Drinking water is not available on every site. Instead there are a couple of communal points. Fortunately our site was right across from one so we were able to top off when we arrived and just before leaving right from our site. We took a scenic driving tour along the Wisconsin back roads and also visited the FWS Hatchery just north of the campground. Friendly staff and very informative. Four stars only because of the tokens for showers and lack of water on each site.

Beautiful, level, shaded sites. Had a pick of sites since we stayed mid week. The shower situation is a bit quirky with tokens needed to use the showers but wasn't a big issue since we only stayed done night.

Some nice river front sights.
