Mixed Feelings

We chose to stay here based on the location, and there were signs stating that it was a county park. The place was beautiful, especially if you get a spot by the water. However, something was off about this place. There were a ton of older campers stored side by side on campsites. We also saw a lot of people with decks set up who appeared to live there full time. I have no issue with this, but the way it was set up was nothing like a county park. Behind our spot, someone was storing a boat, and the next spot over there were several items on the ground sloppily covered with a tarp and straps. It looked trashy. There’s no sewer or water, and things got sketchy when we left for 20 mins to pump out. We left our blocks out, sway bars, chairs, firewood, and electric cord out. As we were driving back up, a “resident” had loaded his truck with our blocks, 6 bundles of fire wood, and chairs, claiming everyone leaves stuff and he didn’t think we’d be back.

Loved This Place

First time staying here, and would definitely come back. Our site was right on the water. Beautiful scenery. The campground is huge. Good facilities and camp store. The first night the bugs weren’t bad but the second night the gnats were pretty bad. Can’t wait to comeback

Camping

Sites are nice sized. They have rustic, electric, and electric/water sites. It can be buggy, but its located right on the Mississippi river. The facilities are clean, have a camp store, beach, boat dock and have firewood for sale. They have a dump station also.

Buggy

We stayed here for two nights and were ate alive by knats the park host or someone told me i had to move my truck because it stuck out a foot also lost power several times during the day and night.
