Rita and the American Heritage Campground are a welcoming wooded oasis just 5 minutes off the freeway. Feels like a state park, or even better, with big well maintained private back in sites. The new Barbados goat babies at their farm were an added surprise. Long live Rita and this great park.

Campground Feel
Feels like a state park with very private spots and large trees surrounding. Convenient to freeway but quiet for sleeping. Bathrooms clean with good water temp and pressure. Small convenience store available at office. No cable and Wi-Fi not available in all locations if that’s important for you. Backin sites only; our site was easy and very level.

We LOVED this campground and will stay here again. Clean bathrooms, nice RV sites - a few a little on the narrow side, but very private and nice BIG Doug fir trees all around the 25 acre grounds. Cost was $55 with full hookups and $45 for just power and water. Back in sites only, but easily backed into. Has a dump station, pool (not open yet) and children’s play area. For as close to the freeway as the park is, it was very quiet. Dog park in back that is nicely sized. Staff very friendly and accommodating. WiFi not too good, but could access local TV with antenna. 10% discount for veterans. Rita very nice!

Very quiet. Nice location. Pilot fuel just around the corner. Back in only and 30 Amp service. Close to people that we were visiting. Rita made sure that we knew all of the "tourist" attractions. Propane is available. Definitely would stay here again.

Very woodsy and private. Spaces are tight but doable. Clean and quiet. Would have given 5 stars but the pool is a frog pond now.

Lovely large spaces in the woods. Felt like a state park. Nice dog run too. Back in only, but lots of room to do that.

Best Campsite Ever
I read how Jim was creepy in a lot of reviews. Yes he is a quiet person and very old school but the kindest person you will meet. He mentioned that even when we leave the campsite and need help he was just one phone call away. Who does that anymore. They never hid behind a bush but did work on the campsites near us. There were a lot of showers to choose from. They have clean well water, dump station, electric 30 A hook up so bring a adapter but will never need to run A/C. They are just 1 1/2 hours from Seattle or the ocean. It was so nice and quiet compared to other sites we’ve stayed at. Did I mention Jim was very helpful in helping us back in our 38’ fifth wheel. I would definitely come back! They also have a pool and little general store but with Covid they’re closed. If you do have a big group or barking dog or children you will want to find a different place. We brought our 15 and 19 year old and left the dogs in doggy daycare so we didn’t have any issues.

VERY nice people. Called about 100 miles ahead and they saved us a nice site. Water and electric but no sewer; no problem for us. Dump station a available and will use it in am. Private and quiet site. Lots of trees and shrubs. Flowers. Military discount for vets and appreciative for our service. Vet on staff. Will stay again if in the area. Worth the stop.

A very beautiful place to stay as long as you can. We love camping where there is a good space and a lot of trees.
Rates are very reasonable; people are very friendly and helpful. Easy to get to. No pull through sites.
We would most definitely come back.

Quiet Off The Beaten Path
Although very close to I-5 it was secluded and quiet. Wonderful hosts and very welcoming. Very shaded. Would probably be an excellent place to stay in the hot summer

Very Nice
Tucked in among the big evergreens, the sites are pretty level and private. It is a family run campground and they are very friendly. Restrooms and showers were nice and immaculate. This is a quiet place to spend a few nights. They have a nice size camp store, many of the things you might need while camping. Would definitely recommend this campground

Beautiful Wooded Family Campground
No complains, extremely clean bathrooms and showers and nice owners who let us choose our spot. Trees all around so there’s privacy between campsites. Has a laundry room and a store for firewood ice snacks and propane.

More Like Real Camping
What an impressive campground just south of Olympia, WA with tall trees giving it more of a state park feel. We spent Friday and Saturday night in this peaceful surroundings and loved every moment of it. Just minutes from I-5 and down the road from Tumwater shopping where there is everything to choose from.
We wish we had stayed the summer here instead of the nightmare RV resort just north of Castle Rock, WA.

Great hidden gem. Our go to spot for large sites, privacy and easy in and out. Only complaint is they don’t do online reservations.

A very nice place run by some super helpful and pleasant people. I was given a description and choice of sites when registering. Each site was very nice and ours was near the playground with plenty of space and good wifi. We loved all of the tall trees and brush between the sites so you aren't sitting right by another camper or their hookups. Very kid friendly with playground, swimming pool, petting zoo, and even a bicycle racetrack - which our kids loved. Their quiet time and pet rules where emphasized at check in and everyone seemed to abide by them. Nice clean shower bath house and laundry area was one of the best I've seen in an RV park. Location is close to city activity but we couldn't hear much noise from the interstate except for an occasional loud truck here and there. Quick 10 min drive to downtown farmers market and capital building. We enjoyed this place so much we ended up staying a few extra nights.

Amazing!
These owners are so awesome! They talk to you and are very interested in where you're from and what your story is. They let you choose your camp site and are very accommodating. The facilities are very nice and cleanly and there is a picnic area next to a small little barn with animals. Highly recommend this site to anyone.
