Nice Park
White Oak Campground is a nice shady spot with water and electric. The bathhouse is clean with 5 showers. Hiking trails traverse the park and surrounding ridges. The lake is just the right size to paddle board or canoe. Verizon service is not available. WiFi is only available at the lake restaurant and certain ranger stations

Far From Home
The ONLY reason I give this a one star is because they gave us a two hour notice that we had to vacate the park due to a pending snow/ice storm.

Awesome
This is a beautiful State Park! Very clean. Very quiet. I dont understand the reservation system but we were in White Oak campground. We had a great site overlooking the creek. Hiking trails are great.

Beautiful State Park
This is a beautiful and historic state park set in the mountains of Virginia. Kind of what your mind imagines when you think of a state park. Many amenities and very clean. Hiking, fishing, canoeing, swimming beach, restaurant, horse campground, mountain biking can all be enjoyed here.

Great State Park
We stayed for 3 nights in the spring. Beautiful park with hiking trails, mountain biking trails, equestrian trails. Nice mountain lake with rental boats and fishing. VDGIF stocks the lake in the spring/early summer with trout. Great campsites across the small bridge. Some new campsites kind of away from main campground, but they looked to be a bit close to the road. Also a nice restaurant in the park.

Away From It All
Kinda out in the woods. Not much cell service. Two RV camps one in the park that is shaded, no sewer and one near the entrance that is newer and easier to get to, but wide open and not many old trees.
