Love This Place
Great stay. Close to nice swimming for the grandkids. Only downsides are no water hookups and lots of flies.

Great Location
Nice lake for kayaks, good trails for bikes and walking, clean bathrooms and nicely spaced campsites. Had to pay non resident fee but well worth the visit.

Great Campsite On A Lake
We are returning from a trip to the Black hills and this was one of the few that still had a spot available. The campgrounds are beautiful and very well maintained. The bathrooms and showers are new and well kept (although did have an odd smell in them).
We are in site #37 which is right on the water. There is a beach right in front of us where our kiddos can go swimming. The site has a firepit with a metal picnic table. They provided 20, 30, and 50 amp service. The spot is a large gravel spot with some shade trees around. We could even launch our kayaks from our site if we brought them.
There are some level, paved trails around the park and through some prairie land with some other activities such as archery, fishing, and boating. It is close to the town of Pierre.

Right On The Lake
We stopped on Friday afternoon mid August and they had plenty of room. We even got a lakeshore site with a shade tree. Lots of kids playing, swimming and fishing. Never saw anyone catch anything though. Very quiet all night. They take some day reservations on line

So Much Space
We stopped on a Thursday hoping to get in until Monday however they could only give one night. We were in site #29 nice view of the river. Two sites from bathroom. Very nice and clean. Shower was large handicapped accessible. Nice play area for children and a great bike path. It cost us $21.95 + $6 for State Park fee. There is only electric so make sure you fill your water tanks. Dump station on your way out with trash and recycling bins. Would recommend but need to make reservations for weekends.

Camping
My family loves staying here on our trips out west. We travel from Minnesota to Idaho to visit family as often as we can. We try to make this our first stop along the way. Staff have been fantastic and the bathrooms and camp sites are clean and cared for.
