Awful Customer Service
I stopped to check on availability to stay a couple days prior to Sturgis Rally. I said ididnt want to be in the area during Sturgis, too expensive. Found I had a leak in my windshield, it had just been repaired in Rapid. I called them within 24 hours of stopping in. I never received a confirmation e-mail ( yes, I checked Spam as well). To my surprise, I was very rudely told it was a “permanent” reservation, though Sturgis was many days away at that time. I also learned they arbitrarily chose to make my reservation a 7 day, though I never ever mentioned 7 days. Not EVEN. I was hung up on after trying to reason with this “Heather” person who did not speak with me the day I inquired, and refused to let me speak with the person I’d spoken with originally. “Heather” insisted she was the manager/owner, and refused any chance at being truthful and reasonable. Never Ever again, and will warn others as often as possible.

Poor Customer Service
Called a day before and asked if I could stay one or two nights. That our plans were up in the air but wanted to stay one night for sure. I get there and the man behind the counter said I had no choice, I had to pay two nights. I just spoke to the owner this morning and confirmed one night. But the message wasn’t passed on or put in the books. This guy was unreasonable. For this reason alone I don’t recommend this RV park.

Wonderful Place
Clean restrooms, hot clean showers. pretty level spots. 5 of us for two nights, yes , the turns are precarious for large rigs. We have a 38 ft. No where to make a u turn, however, the tourist train comes through several times a day charming. Most are back in spots. Great views of the pines. The dump station that I saw is difficult to navigate a large rig to ,In my opinion. Camp grills and firewood available for $5.

Meh
Good wifi. Avoid site #62 at all costs. A little pricey. Book early.

Perfect
Love this campground, planned to rustic camp but older dog needed air conditioning due to the hot weather. Kemp’s Kamp found room for us! The staff is friendly, plenty of restrooms and shower houses. They even provide cloths lines and pins for your wet belongings after a rain. Very thoughtful! They have ice, laundry and firewood as well. We will be back!!

Nice Little Campground
Friendly people. Small and spots are tight, but very close to Mt. Rushmore, so worked great for us.

Cute Hideaway
Very nice establishment. The people who work there are very friendly and they are kind to active military. The spots are smaller and close together. The only negative is it is right on the road but we didn't really hear too many cars. There was a cute little train that passed by just once. It's great for an overnight if you're looking to see the sights as it's very close.

Rocky Mtn Valley
Opened for the 2017 season mid May. Quiet area in a valley on a minor road. The sites are small and fairly close together but there is electric water and cable, tables and bbq's. A nice area for tents near the stream and the amenities blocks are rustic and maintained.

We stayed here in 2015 and loved it! It is set back in the woods yet it's so close to town. Very clean and quaint and our kids had a great time swimming in the pool.
