Camping In The City
Sites are tight. All graveled. Shower #1 needs a new curtain and #2 needs a new shower floor. No cable TV. Positive notes: close to Custer’s Main Street, Mount Rushmore and Custer state park.

Location!
As others have stated, you cannot beat this location for downtown Custer, and jump-off to so many sites in the Black Hills. French Creek is ON the Mickelson Trail… 108 miles of extremely well-maintained trail for biking. Camp host Steve, was outstanding. Very hospitable and friendly… also did a ton of work last winter regrading the camp with crushed rock and upgraded the water system. Sites are a bit tight, but we were busy every day and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We will be back.

Great For Us
Worked great for us. Spent most of the time hiking and not much at the park. The sites were really tight but full hookups. Bathrooms were not well kept but were under construction so probably will be better soon. Walking distance to town. Owner could not have been more pleasant to talk to.

Great Location
Cute little park. Between 2 city parks, right on a trail. Can walk to everything in town. Pizza, icream shop, grocery store... the owner is a pretty cool old lady. Stayed during the Sturgis motorcycle rally. We are not bikers but everyone was cool.

Great Wifi!
Nice little park in a lovely location a block from town. The spots are gravel and small but each has an area of grass with a picnic table behind. It’s very quiet and adjacent to a good field for dogs. Would readily return there.

Have stayed here before a few years ago, not the same place. Very good location for food and beer. Had a good ride on motorcycle. Were camped next to a vampire bass player and his groupie, interesting not restful.

Too Cramped
We squeezed into our back-in site. Luckily our neighbors did not have their awning out, otherwise we would not have fitted in. The best thing about the park is that it is one block from the main street. Sites are gravel, restrooms are ordinary (at best). Cable TV did not work. Our neighbor had to retract their awning in the morning to let us out! Passport America rate justified a one night stay, but I would not pay full price. There seemed to be another very small park next door which may be better.

Rustic Little Gem
French Creek is a very small rustic park. Do not come here and expect to see a 5 Star Resort BUT this is a hidden gem.
Location Location Location
The park is gravel and dirt. Can accommodate big rigs. We have a 44’ Toyhauler. GREAT cell reception and water pressure. Has a tent camping area next to French Creek. Dianne the manager is the nicest lady we have met.
It is located 15 minutes to Crazy Horse, 30 minutes to Mt. Rushmore and 10 minutes to Custer State Park. The town is a one block walk to restaurants, shops and breweries.
We will definitely be back!

Location, location, location...this tiny RV/tent park is perfect to explore the Badlands National Park, Custer State Park, Black Hills National Park, Mt. Rushmore, Needles Highway Crazy Horse, downtown Custer & so much more. A lovely bike trail along French Creek. Park is close to the laundromat, owned by a true local. Bathhouse needs work. Sites are SUPER tight, we have a 42' 5th wheel, we barely fit, but fit. Great cell service. Camp host has a potluck every Friday night. I would have given 5 stars if it weren't for the small spaces. Great little spot if you are there to see the sights. We saw bison, bighorn sheep, mountain goats, burros, prairie dogs, & birds. Stay here if you can.

The park and bathrooms are not great or even good and there are no other amenities to speak of. The location is off the charts great, walk to numerous restaurants, village souvenir shops and the park owner or host is very nice and helpful. The price is right and I would definitely stay here again.
