I love this type of campground. What it lacks in amenities, makes up for its beauty. If you have a reservation you look for your spot assignment at kiosk. Don’t wait in line inside like I did

Run Like Crap
The employees seem to know very little, and have absolutely no power to do anything besides run a cash register.
I arrived near to 7:30 in the morning, hoping to get one of the first come first served sites. I was told to return no earlier than 11:00. I asked if I could come earlier, and the response was, “We can’t help you until 11:00.” I asked if I could leave my name, they said no. I returned before 9:30am. I was told there would be absolutely no sites given out today due to campground maintenance. I was directed to a parking lot out of the park where I could camp. Could I leave my name in case a site opened up? Not an option. I went to the lot, and decided at 11:30am or so to go back and plan some hiking. I arrived, to learn that a couple sites had become available, but they were given away.
I’ve been to 20 campgrounds in six months, and this one had far and away the worse employees. Save the entrance fee. Go somewhere else, or enter the park and just drive around the lake.

Overpriced
Its $31 a night for rv dry camping or $35 with electric and water. Its really the only place we could find near Crator Lake. Location is great, right in the park. Tent campers by $10 a night.

Typical State Campground
This is your typical State Run Campground where they stuff as many people as they can as close as they can in together. Charging $30 + a night with a couple hundred sites, you would think they would have enough money to manicure the area. However its all dead grass and your best views are of the side of your neighbors RV doors slamming kids yelling generators going the noise of people setting up breaking down if you want to take your hard-earned vacation time to be stuffed into a campground with everybody else then this is for you.

Only Option
Due to lingering snow at Crater Lake, this was our only option for camping in our rig close to the lake. There was a lot of snow in the campground, limiting the sites to choose from, but there were ample spots, albeit somewhat muddy camping. Disappointed in the bathroom facilities. Many rest rooms were closed and the showers were closed. There were a lot of communication issues within the park about road closures around Crater Lake, but everyone working there was nice and helpful.

No Big RV's
I would say no more than 38 feet. It was a tight fit for our 43 foot fithwheel just to drive around the loop. Still had snow on the ground on June 8th 2016. Looked like a nice campground but we could not fit.
