Nice park
Great spot, plenty to do around the campground - hiking, biking, Paulina Peak, Lava flows & Paulina Falls. A day trip to Bend area to see High Desert Museum & other Newberry Volcanic attractions. This is dry camping with some community water, there are pull throughs for bigger rigs. This was a post Labor Day trip, campground was mostly empty. More fishing boats during the day than campers. No lakeside campsites but it’s a short walk & there is a 7 1/2 mile loop trail around the lake that follows the shoreline most of the way. A few lakeside campsites are available at Little Crater but sites are closer together. No cell service, ( T-Mobile) but there is an turnout 2 1/2 miles west where you can view the La Pine/Bend valley & get a good 5G signal if you need to check your mail/messages and /or download Apple News, a movie etc. In the summer months this is a very popular area, multiple campgrounds, RV park, horse camp, lodge & attractions. Full rate is $23, Seniors pass is 1/2 off

Good For Lake Kayaking
Popular with locals on weekends. Midweek is fairly quiet. Store and cafe are nearby, across the bridge. The parking area near the entrance extends to the water and is a great place to launch kayaks or canoes because power boats can't use it (shallow and some weeds.) Good channels open up to the lake, only a short paddle. Paulina lake's western shore is a great place for begining kayakers, stays shallow for some distance. Watch out for submerged logs though!
