Quite Beautiful
Managed to get an FHU site. Beautiful woods all around. Terrific hiking trails, waterfalls, fishing lake. Enjoyed our 3 nights despite the rain and sleet. Got plenty of hiking in between the rains.

GREAT CAMPGROUND
Very beautiful campground and peaceful!! Some sites are sloped. Do your research. If you have a camper bring plenty of leveling blocks just in case. Can’t wait to come back again!!

Our Worst Campground Ever
In 5 years of van camping several months a year this was our worst campground ever. “Rustic sites” were really poor – very small, heavily sloped, tent locations in mud holes and drainage ditches, and inadequate parking. Full hookup sites were slightly better but many were still sloped, tightly packed, no parking, and lacking grass. Even after-hours check-in was an issue as there is no map and the site numbering is quirky. Bathrooms were reasonably nice though. This contrasts with the Old Man Cave hiking trail which is immediately adjacent. The trail goes through an amazing gorge and is outstanding.

Great Hikes
The hiking in this area is top notch, great scenery! The campground is nice, good dump stations, pool, and nice bathrooms. Great location for attractions in this area. Some sites are very spacious, ours was. Other sites were very close, which is why only gave 4 stars. Will definitely stay here again!

I looked at Google Earth and read the reviews and was a little worried about if there would be room to drive my 31 foot class C pulling my Honda Fit Toad and be able to turn around at the end circles. I went anyway and the place is great. The road from registration up the hill to the camp ground is narrow and has a few curves, tight if you meet another rv going the other way , just go slow. Once up to the camp ground the roads are fine, turning around at the end circles no problem. Yes, many of the sites are not level, slope down hill. Some worse than others. Many flat sites also. I went around and noted the flat ones for next time. I stayed in the electric only side. The whole place is very nice and the hiking is fantastic but be in shape and bring hiking poles. Cell phone coverage one bar with Verizon when up in the camp ground. Nill when hiking down below! Can’t wait to go again.

Be Prepared
Whatever description you read about a particular site don’t believe everything. Full shade means once the sun begins to set. Come prepared for the major slope that most of the sites have. At least 5-10 degree of slope on a lot the pads. Out site #139 had no grass around the picnic area so they scattered straw all over the site. Just come prepared for an old campground that doesn’t fit newer campers

Beautiful CG, we had full hook up for 2 nights. Hiking and caves are awesome. Wish we stayed longer to kayak and bike ride. Would stay here again!!

Beautiful Hiking Trails
We love the hiking travels at Hocking Hills. The State Park campground has a really nice pool that our kids love. They are building a new visitor center that is supposed to be open next season. The sites can be a bit un-level. And full hook up sites are pretty close together. The bathrooms are clean and the rangers do a nice job keeping things quite.
