We were there in Oct. and it was pretty empty when we arrived, but over the next couple days it filled up. The bugs weren't a problem that time of the year except ticks were bad. You can see and access the river. The campsites were very private with natural growth between each. Pit toilets and water spirits are available. The road getting there is unbelievably pot holed and ruff. Drive SLOW! It is so bad we thought we had turned down the wrong road, but we persevered and arrived slightly jangled. The nicest thing was the campground host. Tonya was sooo nice and really made sure you had a good stay. Just meeting her made it worth it staying there.

Relaxed Basic Campground
We chose this spot as we didn’t have a reservation for Friday of memorial weekend and gov site said usage was light. It worked and we got a spot. Campground facilities are basic - vault toilets, no showers. Seems pretty laid back compared to other sites I’ve stayed at and mostly attracts fishermen I think. Flies were awful, horseflies that take a chunk of flesh when they bite. We were driven back from a hike after 5 mins despite having bug spray on. Might be better out of summer months. Sites were spacious and relatively spaced out.
