We stayed (4/26/24-5/1/24) at site 02 ($23 per night) for two nights and site 16 ($36 per night) for 4 nights. We have a 38’, 50 amp toy hauler. All the sites are large with a fire ring and picnic table. Rocked surface. Mostly level. Well managed and maintained! Lots of hiking and biking trails. Highly recommend!

Hosts
We've been the campground hosts for August. The park is very well run. Restrooms are very clean. The campground is small, 24 sites, only 7 with hookups. Most of the sites are tent sites. No electric. Water in between sites.
The attraction is the hiking and biking trails.
Great park

This NC State Park is great. It actually appears to be open year round. The park rangers are friendly, helpful and just great all around. I know from experience, my wife broke her ankle on the bike trail and they were very professional in how they handled everything. Being seniors, we get a discount on camping fees that works out to $30 a night total for us. There is plenty of space between campsites. There are primitive sites along with cabins and full hookup RV sites, one of which we use when we go there with our travel trailer. Plenty of trails to hike, bike and horseback ride (equestrian area on other side of river from the rest). Bath house is nice, clean and spacious. All well maintained.
