Great Campground
Easy access off the interstate. Quiet, clean , easy pull thru sites. Just a one night stop heading back home to Az🌵. We make this Az trip to Ohio twice a year. Definitely will stop here again! 💚

Satisfied Momma
This was a perfect campsite for us!! Enough room for our corn hole, playing catch, soccer game, and yard darts!!! Tables were anchored down on a concrete slab so we couldn't place our tent over it perfectly, but we made it work!!
Just wish they would add more water/sewer sites.
Bathrooms were clean, staff was amazing!! Tons of things to do while in the Park, 4 hiking trails and 2 caves, lodge with food and gift shop.
Just a short drive from Meramec Caverns which was a full afternoon trip!!
I will be coming back! It was great.

A beautiful and well maintained camp ground. Approx 3 miles off of I-44 but well worth it even for an overnight stay

Stayed three nights at an electric only site. No problems with the site. Paved and level. Bath house is getting kind of run down. Toilets were frequently plugged up. Only one poorly maintained dump station for a large campground. Waited in line on Sunday morning to dump. Was full on Friday and Saturday night and kind of noisy.

Nice park with lots of activities available. We had electric only site and it was fairly flat and shady. I really liked this park but wish they would add another dump station. There are 209 camping sites and only one single dump station. Quite the bottle neck on Sunday afternoon and the narrow roads and sharp turns make it hard to maneuver your camper through the dump station.
On a positive note, the river was very refreshing and we enjoyed floating down the river in our tubes. There are several places to launch and exit along the river plus raft or canoe rentals are available. It’s only about a 30 minute drive to Meramec Cavern and worth the effort to see this magnificent cavern. We plan on returning next year.

Short Stay
I stayed 2 nights in June. The state park is beautiful and well maintained. The showers were clean and the campsite has a nice gift shop. The spots do not have sewage hookup. I am giving 3 stars because the rv sites are all on one concrete parking lot with no grassy area in between. The spots are also very close together and we were placed next to a questionable person who sat outside the entire night looking right at our rv.

Stayed 4th Of July Week 2019
Great camping! We stayed at an electric only site. Plenty for kids to do over a few days. Bike riding, floating, beaches, walking trails, cave tour. People were so helpful, no matter the issue. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because our electric hookup breaker tripped a few times even though we didn't have much running. Still a super fun park!

Stayed April 26-28 2019
We were 60 feet from the Meramec River. Once camp set up, had lots of gnats, but once I sprayed myself with off, gnats were gone. Breezy the rest of the weekend and no more gnats. Nice Campground. Lots of kids riding their bikes. No really noise or music problems. Bathrooms and showers were on the older state park types.

Walnut Grove!
Aside from all the sites having black walnut and no notice that this existed here. We had a storm come through and blew a bunch of walnuts from the tree onto our camper. The unit next to us lost his shower sunroof and vent covers cracked and a car now has big dents in it. Took it up to the host and they got smart with us and said its an act of nature. I said your liable as i had complained last time I was here and they were liable and he said we can move you to a new site! Said the deductible doesn't grow on this tree so who's going to pay for it and then it just got even more stupid. DO NOT STAY AT THIS PARK IN THE FALL MO THS IF YOU VALUE YOUR PROPERTY AND THE HOST WAS A REAL GEM. HIM AND HIS WIFE BOTH WERE SUCH A DISAPPOINTMENT. Also my kids found a yellow jacket wasp nest and that too was fun.... benadryl and a few painful stings. Please just go somewhere else. I did see meramec caverns has camp sites and I'll go there next time.

Hidden Gem!
Superb campsite fo.one night or a week! A.little hard to find but more than worth it. A variety of site amenities with very good rates. Top rate was $25 a night. We'd from AZ so the humidity was an issue but not the parks fault. Jesse James hideout near by. Loved it

Only stayed one night the park was clean. Access to river was not easy.
