Disappointed
The spots were paved, level, and the utilities worked just fine.
We made a reservation so we would back up to our friends with a view of the lake. But when our friends arrived there was someone in their spot. The people who took their spot said they didn't know they were in the wrong spot and couldn't move the camper because it was a rental and delivered to them. Our friends were given a different spot with no view of the lake and right at the entrance where you see and hear everyone coming and going.
So many gnats! You couldn't even sit out side and enjoy the weather and company.
Many of the charcoal grills were broken.
The bathhouse was disgusting. A toilet seat in the men's bathroom was covered in poop. There was no toilet paper. Disgusting and unusable.

Oak Grove 3/16-17/24
Campgrounds are just ok. Showing age for sure. Only one bathhouse was open and it was clear across the grounds from us. One shower had no shower head at all. Someone left a turd in one shower. Not a pleasant sight.
Asphalt is in rough shape but not horrible.
It was quiet. Ground was very wet and muddy but it had rained the day before.
Sitting below the dam there is no view of Lake Sardis at all.
It is convenient to Parks and golfing at Mallard Pointe and has some nice play areas for kids.
The Park needs a little attention and cleaned up a bit and it would be nice.
All the hook ups worked just fine. Was level.

Very Nice Place
Stayed here during the 4th of July weekend this year. This was my first stay here at this park. The “camp hosts” were very friendly and helpful and the lake view was beautiful. The park is nicely wooded and shade filled, but not a deep woods feel. The park filled up due to the holiday, but everything was very pleasant. After the big firework show over the lake put on by the city, the noise was over. There are two really nice swim areas very close by. Definitely will return. So much better than anything at Arkabutla. Definitely give Oak Grove a visit; you won’t regret it.
