Lack Of Park Rules
We just finished staying at Persimmon Hill for 10 days. In my opinion this is one of the best parks in north Mississippi. We camp there several times a year but lately I am getting concerned with the lack of park rules not being enforced. I have noticed more and more golf carts that don’t have handicap stickers, and the young drivers look perfectly healthy. Also the e-bikes have become rampant! Since the kids can’t drive the golf carts, they zoom past on e-bikes at neck break speed. And I couldn’t count the number of dogs that were running free with no one around. Talking with a camp host, they just throw their hands up. They can’t do anything. Park rangers seldom patrol the park. One comes thru early in the morning checking their phone to see what campsites are available. After that you probably won’t see another ranger. I guess the next time I will tow my car so I can travel over to the office to see if I can talk to someone there. Rant over.

Enjoyed
We were here in May, 2021 site #42. We were on site #6 this time. Very level, however, there is a speed bump right in front of the site, so you do hear thumping. Stayed a week in our 30ft Class A with tow. Fire pit, solid concrete table and grill. Verizon and AT&T worked great. Enjoyed riding our bikes. Hubby fished but no bites but still relaxing. Lots of trees to hang a hammock. We saw deer 3 sites over, fun to watch. Happy travels

WOODED, REMOTE & QUIET
Looking for a one nighter driving home (near Chicago) from New Orleans; we found this great spot.
Couldn't ask for anything more.
Highly recommend.
Being managed through army corps of engineers; reservations are made through recreation.gov or just call as we did @ 877-444-6777 (once you have picked out your site # that's open). Ours was site #1 (full hookups). Just like booking at a State or National Park.

Great Place To Relax
We had a great time here! Relaxing and such well maintained pads and tables, bathroom, playgrounds and walking trails, etc.

Super Nice
We camped here several times last year. Drove 3 hours to get here each time. This is the nicest and cleanest campground we have ever stayed at. Bath houses are very clean. Grounds very well kept. Beautiful lake. Quiet place. Sites are concrete and nice and level.

Lovely Spot
We were just passing through on the way from Florida to S. Dakota. Planned on one night, stayed 2. Family friendly, pet friendly, senior friendly. $20 regular price, $10 with national senior pass. Sites are concrete, level, spacious and big rig capable and (mostly) full hookups. There is a dump station if you get a site with no sewer. Most sites are on the water. Many are reservable, but if you are only staying a day or two, drive through and look at the stakes at each site. They'll say if a site is reserved and when. If the reservation is a couple of days away you can take it, first come first served, until the reservation date.

Most sites near the water and camp sites are clean.
