Great Park To Stay At
We stayed Spring Break 5 days at Trace. Very nice and clean. We were at #36 and it was quite during the whole 5 days. We will be going back during the summer. We caught lots of fish and just walked out the door 15 feet from RV. All in one spot. It is a good state park but I gave it a 3 star because of one problem. The roads. It’s really a shame to have a state park and roads this bad. Watch the roads.

Nice Park
Nice campground. Stayed in the Eagle loop. Most of the sites are big and level. Sites 30 through 40 have a great view of the lake. Bathrooms were clean and the people were friendly. They need to repair the road to the campground. The hiking trails are shared with the mountain bikers. They wind back and forth and it feels like that you’re not going anywhere. The disc golf course is top notch. That’s probably the best hike. We will be back.

Lots of potential but
Trace State Park could eaily be a 5 star park with a little TLC. Fix the roads from the gate to the RV campgound and clean the bathhouse. We stayed in Deer Run campground in late Dec, 2021 in a 30’ Class motorhome for one night. The bathhouse was filthy and needed a good bleaching. There are no trash containers around until you are driving out. The lake is beautiful. Our site was fairly level.

Stop Over
Small state park. We stopped here as a stopover on the way to the beach. Worked it’s purpose for that. Not continent to get to really. Sites are not marked the best. No actual fire pits. Just a rock ring. Does have a standing grill which I always find a plus. Lake was drained while we were here. Would be curious to see that. Oh big bonus... playground in our loop!!! That’s always nice with kids!!!

We camped at the warrior campground. Nice level concrete pad. Nice facilities. Would have given five stars but the long access road was very poor. It is paved but has large pot holes.

Worth The Trip
When we originally made our reservation we did not realize there is no lake right now due to the levee break and repair drain down. That would have been unfortunate because this is a beautiful campground. The sites are spacious, the views are amazing and all of the state park workers were friendly and helpful. The hiking trails and shower house are well maintained. We would definitely stay here again.

Part Time RV'er.
This is a great hidden gem. The road in is a little beat up, just take it easy. The views from almost ever site are great, we had a pull thru, after a 400 mile day it was bet welcomed. Full hook ups, great shore and bath house. Clean, heated. Great! Water is low in the reservoir, working on dam area. Would recommend! Easy access to Natchez Trace Parkway.

Great Stop
Camped there 3 times. A beautiful campground with hookups. Nice lakefront sites. Clean and relatively inexpensive.
