We stay only 1 night. Site is too small and rv par is crowded. But has nice beach and plenty trails to walk dogs.

Nope!
Very dirty campsites and beaches. Spaces are tight and roads were muddy and not large rig friendly. Definitely not the place for glamping or anything remotely close to nice camping - and the management is rude! (If I lived there I wouldn’t be too happy either.) We ended up staying down the road at Tiki... Much nicer campground and management. Similarly priced.

Nice Park
We stayed at the Castle Rock Lakefront Campground for 11 nights. They offer Good Sam discounts and weekly rates. We averaged $35 a night for water and electric for an interior site. There is a sign in the office that reads wifi is only available at the office and at the full hook-up area. We stayed on site 82. It was REALLY tight for a 32 footer and a full size F-250 but, cozy and trees provide some privacy so, you are not looking directly into your neighbors windows. It is a corner lot and right off the main entrance...with lots and lots of traffic. Roads do have 90 degree angles but, an experienced driver should not have a problem. We discovered Verizon mobile-to-mobile works within the campground but not mobile-to-landline. Staff picks up garbage at your campsite throughout the day. Metal detecting is not allowed on the beach because black sand is below the shallow sand, however, kiddos are allowed to dig holes and make tunnels, valleys and streams. Laundry is available.

Not BIG RIG Friendly
This campground is tiny and very rustic. The roads have several 90 degree turns with low hanging tree branches. Not recommended for Motor Homes, small rv's it's fine.

Apparently they are doing some work on the campground so hopefully this will change soon but there was mud everywhere. We stayed in tents and there were very few sites that looked like they would even be nice tent sites. They either had mud or like ours rocks. We were crammed onto a tiny site with rocks and close enough to the road we could hear loud traffic all night. The bathrooms were clean enough but my daughter was confused when she first went in. The lights are turned on by a timer in the women's. Apparently the men's has a normal switch. I would recommend trying one if the other campgrounds first but this was okay. We booked last minute.

Ripe Off
Will not stay here again. I was told 35.00 a night and when we got there the price went up to 42.00 a night. People take their dogs to the beach and don't clean up after. Campsites are real close together didn't like you don't have space. Castle rock is across the street but it's a highway you cross so you want to drive. They charge 6.00 for 5 pieces of firewood. The bathrooms are clean the showers suck. You have to keep pushing the button or water shuts off. The old man in the office is not nice and has bad attuide. NEVER AGAIN. There are better campsites up here. Plus the noise from the highway all night long.

Works Great
Stayed here because most of the other sites were booked up. The sites are spaced close to each other. Campers seem to be courteous. Staff are friendly and helpful. The only aspect that I didn't find helpful was the Mackinac Bridge (I-75) has a toll to cross it. This gets a bit costly when it comes to sightseeing the area.
