Had a great week here. Rented a number of things from the marina that went smoothly. Turtle is a wonderful camp host. Really had a way with the kids. The only negative is there is not a level site to be found!

Used To Be Local Favorite
Being from the area, we used to love to weekend here. The amenities are nice, love having access to the lake and beach but the hosts are NOT friendly. They yelled at my 9 year old daughter for skipping rocks in the lake from the area to launch boats...so bad she was CRYING....The grass was so long in common areas that both my husband and I got chiggers...I am literally ate up from the legs up. Our site was very unlevel and the electricity kept surging, we also were missing the spiket for the water to turn on at our site and the hosts were very rude when we asked them to help us TURN ON THE WATER at the site we PAID for. We used to love this place as a nice weekend get away, but the last two times we have stayed it has continued to get worse and worse.. and the hosts are always claiming "well the owners..."

We stopped here for a couple of days to defrag. Showed up on Saturday afternoon, weekenders were leaving on Sunday, so we basically had the park to ourselves. Very quiet and peaceful. The lake is small and great for kayaking, we even rented a pontoon boat for a day. The staff was very friendly and pleasant, and went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed ourselves. There are a few issues that can be resolved. Only a couple of 50amp sites, and be sure to take an extra length of sewer and fresh water hose. We were in a 42’ MH with a toad. The park is a little of the interstate and fairly easy to get to. Be sure to call ahead for vacancies, locals love this place. We will definitely stop again if in the area. Again, it was a great place to chill for 2 or 3 days.

Great Weekend
Thanks for the hospitality Turtle! We stayed here while visiting our boys at SIU. The campground is located on a peninsula, so there’s a beautiful view of the lake from just about anywhere. The full hookup spot we stayed in was very spacious with a large, level, concrete pad, and an awesome view. Facilities are older, but clean and well maintained. Wish we had more time to enjoy the water and rent a pontoon. Turtle and her staff were very friendly and helpful. Definitely staying here again!

Great For Fishing And Smaller Campers
Looks like it would be great for tent camping, but if you are towing over 20 feet, the lots are small, uneven, and you are sharing power boxes. Make sure you talk to the great staff on the phone about what you are bringing and they will be very helpful. Fire rings are a bit far away from where you will be setting up. Small beach. Great fishing lake. Giant city state Park is just up the road for hiking. Showers are pretty standard.
