Great For Visiting Chicago
Well maintained and was not full when we were there is August. Camp host was very nice and friendly when we checked in . Very nice park not too far from Chicago (about 1 hour out). Bring an extra hose since some of the water sources at the site are a little ways off. Could use some more signage, you just have to keep driving down the road until you get to the RV park.

Great Park Near Chicago
It's a beautiful, well maintained park, reasonably priced, long and spacious concrete pads, perfectly manicured lawn, very peaceful and quiet considering it's in Chicago land. Be aware, the water tastes and smells awful!

Stay Away
This is a nice place to stay, normally. As of 5/6 the campground is full of Gypsies. Kids from 3 up are running unattended everywhere, no parental supervision. We watched one camper in this group bleed the grey tank on the ground. Driving the wrong way on one ways.
I was asked to move my trucks one tire off the grass, yet have watched the guy in the photo below drive across the lawn, 2 sites from the entry house (while staffed) nothing said.
If you enjoy camping, I would strongly advise you avoid coming here until they depart. Earliest departure date I’ve seen is 5/11.
The staff said they’ve warned them multiple times and appear frustrated but haven’t kicked them out.

Green
Very beautiful and green forested area. Very quite as well. Small lake to fish in, other than that not much for kids to do.
Only water and power, there is a dump station.
The water is from a well, the worst smelling I’ve ever been around, I need to change the filters to my water after we leave.
There is a campground worker in site 31 that is a campground nazi! Wouldn’t let my sister park in an empty campsite at 6:15 on a Sunday night.

Teacher
Few or no ammenities like wifi, kid’s, no consistency of fees, some attendants unpolite, manage more as private enterprise an not passes of any kind advartised as option. Nice place but expensive for what is offered.

Beautiful!
We stayed a weekend, had a wonderful & relaxing time! They have beautiful walk paths I enjoyed w/ my Husband,& dog. Even horse trails. The views at night are really neat! Especially when the fog pops up! Its a new clean well kept campground! There’s a separate parking area for visitors, because they don’t want to overload the sites w/ cars. You can fish , they even have a kids Rock Climbing wall! The Grandkids had a blast! We discovered this gem this year, & have been back 3 times this season. We’re looking forward to many more visits!!

No Camper Vans
The campground is decent, however my husband and I camp in a camper van and they made us set up a tent and sleep in it. Said we couldn’t stay in the van (that we paid good money for to sleep in, so this was disappointing). Primitive spots don’t have parking on site so the equipment must be walked to the site. They also do not have showers. All in all, a decent place to stay if none of those things affect you.

Nice Public Campground!
This is a nice public Campground! We are residents of the County so it is only $15 a night for us, non-residents are $25. Water and electric, bathrooms close(No showers) and 2 dump stations. Nice fishing pond and climbing rock for kids. Attendants are very nice and extremely helpful for us newbies. Highly recommend!

Quiet, Beautiful
We are enjoying our time here. It's close enough to the western suburbs of Chicago without all the noise and lights.
Has a nice walking trail.

Great location
Strange rules: must not be away from campground more than 12 hours in 24, even if over half empty may not stay more than 7 days
Don't understand rules

Amazing Place!
I absolutely loved it here! Visiting from California and I was amazed that we were able to drive and get spot for the night without a reservation. FYI they only take cash or check. The man at the check-in was so friendly and helpful! I would highly recommend it here!

Suburban Gem
This is great place to camp in suburban Chicago! Easy access off of I-90. The staff is very friendly, and make you feel at home.
Positives:
All sites are paved asphalt or concrete.
30/50 amp services
Well kept fire pits
Excellent walking trails
Water available at sites (no sewer)
Negatives:
Water location - may require significant boss
May require to run from passenger side thru site to hook up
May have to cross other campsites to hook up
Beyond that, I will stay here any time my wife has to work and we still want to get out!
