Not nice, dirty and dark. I would not recommend this park.

Nice View Of The River
We asked for a spot near the river and they got us a great location with a view. Zero issues and we had full water/sewer/electric hookups. We enjoyed it and would go here again. A bit higher priced than other places but you can't beat the view!

Pretty Rough
Place is grossly overpriced for the atmosphere. Yes, there are full hookups and pull through sites. There is also a LOT of mud and general filth. We stayed in early spring so maybe it gets a little better in prime time but it was very rough. Many "working" campers staying long term with some sites well kept and some with junk all over. Description of the campground sounds very inviting and is VERY misleading. Place is basically an extension of an adjacent run down mobile home park. Owner is a nice guy but if we get in the area again we'll look elsewhere.

I was hesitant... reviews speak volumes. Large concrete road barriers are piled ALL OVER the park! Maybe to prevent wash from flooding?
There is NO lighting in the campground whatsoever. Cars are able to drive through that don't even belong there.
This has the potential to be a beautiful place, if it had some TLC. Honestly, as is, it feels like a scene from Deliverance....

Unkept
Pro: full hookups available, decent bath house with toilet and hot shower
Cons: advertise free wifi, but no signal; unkept grounds; only two bathrooms / showers for entire campground; questionable tent campers

Electrical Problem
Hooked up RV and no shore power inside. Checked hook up box and heard "sizzling" sound. Unhooked. Called owner. He came out and shook box which is on tall stake as campground is often flooded by river immediately next by.
Reestablished electric hookup and it worked.
However, during night, lost shore power - meaning, lost A/C (it is very hot), lost fan, etc.
Now, too warm to sleep. And too late to call owner.
Will check, if stop here again.

Beautiful & Quiet
Mid September visit heading west. I loved the fact that I did not see permanent resident campers. Beautiful scenic views of the river. Owner met me at the office and escorted me to my site. Offered to change the site if I was not happy. Passport America discounted. Quiet. No mosquitos!

Nice View, Long Pull Through Sites
FHU, picnic bench, rock fire pit, courteous staff, quite, nice view of Illinois River and tall trees gives shade throughout campground. Our 41' fifth wheel and 25' truck easy in and LONG pull through site.
Four stars because office is run down, wifi drops (in the back loop). Passport America rate was $25. We stayed two nights to visit Peoria, IL. Would stay here again.

Better Than Expected
I was a little hesitant on the park as it was Labor Day weekend and there were sites available. It is located on the banks of the river with fabulous sunsets. If you are looking for luxury this is not it but you want a good place to camp with full hookups and large sites with both back in and pull throughs this is your place

A Second Review
Sorry, but we love this campground so much I wanted to review again. Very friendly staff who have made noticeable improvements since my last review. Drove just over an hour to try out a local state park and came back the same afternoon after being disappointed there. If you are in the area and looking for a clean friendly campground, this is the place.

Beautiful Park
We found this gem while heading south. It’s wooded, sites are big with lots of space, not crowded, wonderful views of the river. The staff rocks!!! I will be back!

Bath house was in extreme need of attention. The hook up placements are strangely too far from the parking pads. Price is a little higher than advertised. The grounds are clean, spacious shaded camp sites, quiet park. It would be a four or five star park with a little bit of TLC.

Nice Park
This is a nice, no frills park. There are not a lot of activities and the wifi is weak but for the price, a great place to spend a few days. Very friendly and helpful staff. We will definitely stay here again.

Rustic And Nice
I am a Full Timer and stay in parks of all types - the extremely expensive and to the rustic and less expensive. This one of the later. This park accepts Passport, is very quite, the lots are level, the owner is great and helps whenever he can. Located on the Illinois River is very scenic. Close to great restaurants and places to visit. I would stay again if in the area.
