Nice 1 night stopover
Holder Mine Campground, Withlacoochee State Forest is a small campground with mostly shaded sites, but little vegetation between campsites. A few of the sites have enough spacing to provide some elbow room. There are some nice hiking trails just to the west of the campground that can be enjoyed when the weather is cooler. The campground is gated and is opened using the gate code included in the reservation confirmation. The bathhouse is clean with hot showers.

Hidden Gem
Stayed here for two weekday nights and was the perfect quick getaway. RV spots were spaced out perfectly along with cement pads. Very level sites and the water for our hookup was surprisingly good. Would highly recommend for anyone looking to getaway for a few days. We hiked one of the many trails and was well marked. The campsites were clean and the bathhouse was very well kept. Cell phone was hit and miss which was no problem since that’s why we go camping anyway to detach. The dump station was in a very good location when you leave the campground. We will be looking forward to our next visit soon. Thanks to all the staff from the forestry department and the camp host.

Lots of shade under big oaks. New concrete pads are being added. I'd like to come back on a weekday without the sand rails for a bit more peace and quiet. Fire wood was available on the honor system and a donation. Gravel road for a mile or so.

Great Little Find
Really nice campground. It was quiet, with large spaces. The site we had had a cement pad which made leveling our rig a breeze. Plenty of hot water, but the shower house is not heated.

Ok But Avoid Weekends
Campsites relatively spaced apart (site 8 great, 4, 14, 16, 25 good) 3 walkup sites (#25 -27) showers and bathhouse was clean, avoid the weekends when all the off road 4x4 trucks stir up dust and the partiers and dog barking keep you up till 2 am. There are primitive spots nearby for $10 night, and hookup sites with electric & water, most with level concrete pads for $25. The Florida trail winds through the area and is the highlight of this area. Cell service with Verizon was 2 bars and I was glad to have Google map access since the printed maps at the kiosk were terrible.
